**Akekuri’s real name is Shiba Momiji, and she was supposed to run her mother’s trading company.** She graduated top of her business school, with one A minus for bankrupting the rest of her class in a business game, then joined Endfield and rebuilt a team that had no members.

She is the captain of Operations Team Z7, the cheerful one with the flare gun and the coffee pot. Her files are a graduation interview, a job application, a letter from her mother to HR and a year-end report that turns into a diary. Under the jokes is a family that broke apart after a war.

**How we checked this.** Everything below comes from Akekuri’s profile records, voice lines and text message threads in the official English localization, checked against the current game data on 14 October 2026\. Where the files only hint at something, we say so. The images are scenes from our own Short about her, built from the same files.

## TL;DR - Key Points

* **Her real name is Shiba Momiji.** Her mother, Shiba Yoko, is CEO of Shiba Trading, a TGCC company.
* **Top of her class, with one A minus.** She bankrupted every other team in a business simulation.

## Who Is Akekuri?

![The report card: A+ A+ A+ A+ A+, except one A minus](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-report-card.webp)

Akekuri is a Perro operator of Endfield Industries, born on March 31, and Oripathy negative. Her physical exam rates her strength and combat skill “Standard” and her tactical acumen “Excellent”. In battle she is a 4-star Heat Vanguard with a sword and a flare gun, and she knows exactly where the line falls: “I know I’m not the strongest fighter out there, that’s why trust and teamwork are our best defense. Now you see why this flare gun matters so much!”

Her HR summary is warm. “With her background, she could’ve walked into any renowned TGCC company with a single recommendation. Yet she chose to join Endfield. Even here, she could’ve opted for a desk job.” Instead she volunteered to rebuild Operations Team Z7 “stepping into the role of a frontline operator.” The summary’s author, an HR assistant named Martin Marvin Malen, adds that in her interview she asked him “What’s Endfield’s vision as a ‘great enterprise’, and how does it plan to achieve it?” His answer: “This is a question only the Endministrator can truly answer.”

## The Valedictorian With One A Minus

Her second file is a special edition of the Neo Tsukushi Business School News, an interview on the eve of graduation. Shiba Momiji held “the top GPA in your major for four years straight” and won “two gold medals in the TGCC Youth Business Competition.” She interned at several top TGCC companies, including a rotation at the headquarters of Shinozu Trading, and her ideas for a risk assessment model “received glowing feedback from company leaders.”

Asked what she is proudest of, she names none of that. She picks her volunteer group, Firefly Light: “Firefly Light taught me how to stretch limited resources to help as many people as possible.”

![Five pawns topple: BANKRUPT!](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-bankrupt.webp)

Her report card has one blemish, and she tells the story herself. “Hmm, all A+ except for the business simulation in sophomore year. My teammates were counting on me, so oops… I kinda made the other teams go bankrupt. The professor later told me that in Talos-II, zero-sum strategy isn’t the best approach. That was my one and only A-.”

The reporter asks the obvious question: “Your mother runs Shiba Trading as its CEO. Many assume you’ll follow in her footsteps.” She shakes her head and grins: “I’ve made up my mind. But … you’ll have to wait a little longer to find out.”

![Mom's plan: business school, corporate job, take over the family firm](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-plan.webp)

The answer was a self-recommendation letter to Endfield’s HR. “Though I do not come from a technical or combat background, I specialize in logistics, coordination, and on-site problem-solving.” She offers to take on “front-line responsibilities if needed” and attaches her resume, transcript, internship records “and project examples from past competitions.”

## Captain of an Empty Room

![Chance: throw the plan away. Advance to Endfield.](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-chance.webp)

Her next file is an application to Supervisor Perlica. Operations Team Z7 “was originally a multipurpose support unit. Its former members have since been promoted or reassigned to other teams, leaving the unit inactive.” She proposes to rebuild it as “a compact, agile support team capable of independently handling low- to mid-risk missions,” without “drawing heavily on existing resources.” Her credentials: “A or higher ratings in 32 real missions and over 200 simulations.”

![Team Z7: captain of an empty room](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-empty-room.webp)

The notes under the application are the fun part. The security professional Krad: “No wonder that girl nagged me for a whole month, asking in painstaking detail about every tactical role… In the end, she even put my name down in her proposal.” HR: “I’ll be honest, a few of the people Operator Akekuri brought into Operations Team Z7 made HR raise their eyebrows. But, with Supervisor Perlica’s green light and her personal guarantee, I’ll give them a trial run for now.” And a hallway conversation between [Chen Qianyu](https://endfieldhub.org/blog/chen-qianyu-lore-six-word-job-application-endfield) and [Ember](https://endfieldhub.org/blog/ember-lore-backstory-turn-every-recruit-away-endfield), who have both been invited to train her recruits against heavily armored targets.

The last note is hers: “We successfully passed the assessment within three months, right on schedule! Great job, everyone! I’ve prepared some hot drinks and snacks.”

## How She Keeps Z7 Running

![Now hiring: Estella, Fluorite, Antal and Catcher](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-hiring.webp)

The team she built is [Catcher](https://endfieldhub.org/blog/catcher-lore-backstory-family-sends-weapons-endfield), [Fluorite](https://endfieldhub.org/blog/fluorite-lore-backstory-bounty-politician-endfield), [Estella](https://endfieldhub.org/blog/estella-lore-sad-backstory-landbreaker-camp-endfield) and [Antal](https://endfieldhub.org/blog/antal-lore-backstory-bad-jokes-endfield). She defends each of them in her voice lines. Estella is not unmotivated: “Just look at her record, she’s actually all about the thrills, adventures, and hard work!” People are scared of Fluorite, “But if you get to know her, you’ll see the courage and sense of justice beneath that hood.” And Antal’s jokes: “Try looking at it from his point of view, maybe you’ll catch his train of thought and find that funny… Hahaha!”

Her management method fits in one line: “eat everything Catcher cooks, gift Fluorite flytraps, power through Estella’s noisy tracks with her, and laugh at Antal’s jokes. Trust me, it works.”

![House rules 1 to 4](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-house-rules.webp)

It does not always work. “Everyone says Catcher’s a great teammate, but honestly, he’s the one who needs the most care. I kept making coffee for everyone at the team meetings, and he just drank it every time for two months, until we found out he was allergic! That’s when I switched him to hot cocoa.”

![Allergic](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-allergic.webp)

Team meetings are tea parties. In one text thread she quizzes the commander on coffee or tea, then invites them to a “small tea gathering”. The commander already knows the name: “Oh, is this Akekuri’s Cozy Drink Party?” She prepares the drinks, Catcher handles the snacks, and they “chat about weather, food, gossip … maybe even play our own little board games.” Her reasoning: “Tea makes people calm, so it’s easier for them to speak up.” She signs off: “Can’t wait for you to try my special ‘Akekuri Blend’.” Elsewhere she offers nama yatsuhashi, “a traditional Higashi sweet with red beans, matcha, and roasted chestnut flavor,” and bakes the commander a Mont Blanc cake for a promotion party.

## The Dam and the First Year

Z7’s first mission was “just a simple escort gig, helping Endfield engineers build a dam on the frontier. Sounds easy, right? We bungled it so bad we could’ve written a ‘101 Things Not to Do’ handbook. But when the dam was finally finished, standing waist-deep in that cold water… The sense of accomplishment was real.”

![Guard the dam. Easy. 101 Things Not to Do, by Team Z7](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-101.webp)

A year later her annual report to Perlica reads: “We completed 40 missions with a 95% success rate and zero casualties. These included 16 cross-region supply runs, 9 joint wildlands recon operations, 7 high-risk engineering escorts, and 8 emergency rescues.” Then the honest postscript: “While our combat rating remains average in this year’s assessment, we ranked among the top in support, command, and management.”

![Combat rating: average](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-average.webp)

The report closes by asking for Z7 to serve under the newly awakened Endministrator: “It would be a privilege to personally deliver our tactical reports.”

## She Is Studying You

![Profile: the boss. Results? Process? Teamwork? Coffee or tea?](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-profile.webp)

In her first text thread she asks the commander for advice on Z7’s “mission reflections”: when judging a mission, what matters more, the objectives, how everyone performed, or how the team worked together? Whatever the answer, she has a flattering reading of it ready. The commander catches on: “So this isn’t really about getting my advice, it’s more like you’re trying to observe and study me?”

“Oopsie, you caught me :P” She explains that she started with Z7’s mission logs, widened the search and got drawn to the commander’s role in the field. “So I thought, why not make a little personality profile of you for my own reference? Don’t worry, it’ll stay between us!” Then: “And if it’s okay, I’d love to put your name on it too!”

![Oopsie :P](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-oopsie.webp)

## Her Mother, Shiba Yoko

Her third profile file is a letter to Endfield’s HR from her mother. “As the CEO of Shiba Trading, I am accustomed to addressing matters with logic and efficiency. Yet as I write this letter, I find myself overwhelmed by emotions.”

Shiba Yoko raised her “with care and intention, preparing her to carry forward both our family and our business,” and shielded her “from the very things that once tore our lives apart.” Momiji “has never once let me down.” Then she joined Endfield and volunteered for the front line. “I was taken aback and deeply upset. We argued incessantly, and our relationship suffered.”

![Incoming: Mom](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-mom.webp)

The letter ends in acceptance. “The same sense of justice and idealism that once guided her father lives on in her.” She no longer opposes the decision, and asks only that HR “keep her safe, as much as circumstances allow.”

Akekuri’s own version is lighter. “Yeah, my mom had it all planned out, business school, join TGCC, follow in her footsteps. Welp, me joining here was not a part of her script. Sooo … please make Endfield the biggest deal on Talos-II, or she’ll start calling me back!” She then hands the commander a card for “the store everyone knows about” in the Band, presumably her family’s.

In her last text thread she has gone quiet. Her mother has overworked herself running the company alone and fallen ill. Perlica has granted leave, but Akekuri is afraid to go: “I’ve always carried some guilt toward her.” She imagines the other life, “wearing formal business attire in an office, or in an evening dress at social gatherings,” and decides she would not trade. “I want her to know I’m not running from anything, and I’m not being selfish. This is a choice I made, the path I truly want.”

## Fight the Aggelos

![A game called Fight the Monsters](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-game.webp)

The reason under all of it is in her mother’s letter and one trust line. Her father “met my younger brother while serving in the war against the Aggeloi. That bond eventually brought him into my life, and later, we had Momiji.” Her mother was the strict teacher; “her father and uncle were her playmates and protectors.”

Akekuri remembers the game. “When I was little, I used to play this game called ‘Fight the Aggelos’ with Dad and Uncle. I’d ride on their shoulders like I was the commander. Then, ten years ago, Uncle got called up to the north as a shinobi hacker and never came back. That was when my parents stopped speaking to each other.”

Her mother’s letter adds the rest: “Everything changed after the Crusade against the Aggeloi ended ten years ago. Her uncle never returned, and her father came back a different man, only to leave home not long after.” Momiji “set aside her childhood game of ‘fighting Aggeloi’ and turned her focus to her studies.”

![Two houses, a crack between them](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-houses.webp)

The files never say outright that her uncle died, only that he never came back. Her trust line says her father has “been out fighting Aggeloi” since, which suggests he left home to keep fighting, though the files do not spell out where he is now.

## One Family Dinner

![Her plan: one family dinner](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/akekuri-lore/akekuri-dinner.webp)

Her wish, in her own words: “I just hope Mom and Dad can make peace. Dad’s been out fighting Aggeloi, while Mom’s been running the family store. But why should that mean they have to live separate lives? If they both worked at Endfield, maybe they wouldn’t have to choose between duty and family…”

Her fourth profile file is the year-end reflection she could not turn into a chart. She worries Catcher is overextending himself, defends Estella’s quiet strength, asks herself whether she is “a strong enough cushion” for Fluorite, and sees how hard Antal works to keep pace. Then the wish again: “if the ideals of Endfield are ever fulfilled, and peace finally comes, maybe, just maybe, her parents might reconcile. And perhaps she could go home, just like when she was little … and share one peaceful family meal together again.”

The file ends: “She is giving her all to make that future possible.”
