The elder who raised her named her after a pack beast so she would survive the wind and the frost. She grew up into a nomad who answers every call for help, rides a motorcycle she welded together from salvage, broke a Landbreaker siege with a monsoon, and walked up to Endfield waving a letter of recommendation at the sky. Her files never explain the one thing you most want to know: how a child ended up out there alone.

**How we checked this.** Everything below comes from Arclight’s profile records, voice lines and text message threads in the official English localization, checked against the current game data on 18 October 2026\. Where we read between the lines, or where the text leaves something open, we say so.

## TL;DR - Key Points

* **Her real name is Ekut.** A Kuranta from the Hannabit Circuit, born January 3, a 5-star Electric Vanguard with a sword, voiced in English by Andrea Gatchalian.
* **She was found dying as a little girl.** Patrolling Huntsingers brought her into camp after months alone in the wildlands, starving and parched. Her right arm’s nerves were reconnected with circuitry.
* **She wears insulation gloves because of that arm.** Her elder designed them “so that she may live normally like us.”
* **Aldertone Orisha named her after the burdenbeast**, a strong, intelligent pack animal, so she would survive the wind and frost.
* **At fifteen she left to seek the songs** and helped villages “even when the challenges were far too great.”
* **She built her motorcycle from three manufacturers’ parts** and a chassis she welded by hand. Semyon thought it was a military vehicle.
* **She broke a Landbreaker siege** by having the village dig trenches that the monsoon turned into a moat.
* **The name Arclight came from a storm rescue**: an arc of lightning, and her leaping onto the last wagon.

## Who Is Arclight?

Arclight is the callsign of **Ekut**, a **Kuranta** from the **Hannabit Circuit**, born on January 3\. She joined Endfield Industries as a field operator on the recommendation of her elder, **Aldertone Orisha**, and she also handles maintenance and repairs for Endfield’s machinery and vehicles. She is Oripathy positive. Her examination rates her physiological strength and Originium Arts assimilation as excellent, her combat skill as standard and her tactical acumen as normal. In battle she is a 5-star Electric Vanguard who fights with a sword; her kit, builds and damage numbers are on [her operator page](https://endfieldhub.org/characters/arclight).

She introduces herself with an apology for her own words: “I am Ekut. Callsign is Arclight. I am not a trained weaver of words, but I wish you well and may you flow like a rising river, Endfielders.”

Ask her where she is from and she gives the same answer every time: “I follow Aldertone Orisha, and every Songseeker is her own master.”

## Found Alone in the Wildlands

Her second profile file is Orisha’s recommendation letter to Endfield, and it opens with the day they met.

“The patrolling Huntsingers brought her back to the camp and the girl was barely alive. It was difficult for us to fathom why such a young child was left to roam the wildlands for months on her own, a suffering that almost killed her with malnutrition and thirst.”

Her right arm was injured badly enough that **they reconnected the nerves with circuitry.** Then the letter adds a line that says more than it explains: “Of course, there is no need to be worried about the hazards posed by her right hand. We have designed a special pair of insulation gloves so that she may live normally like us.”

That is everything the game says about her arm. It never names the hazard. Given the circuitry, the insulation and her Electric kit, it is tempting to connect them, but that link is our reading, not the text’s. The letter also never says where she came from, who left her, or why. Even the people who saved her could not work it out.

## A Name From a Pack Beast

“I named her Ekut, based on the strong and intelligent burdenbeast of our hanna. It is my hope that she could grow up strong, and survive the wind and frost like the powerful burdenbeast. She achieved all that, and went beyond my expectations.”

The burdenbeast turns up all through her speech. She describes mechanical breakdowns as “burdenbeast temper,” and her explanation of why old parts from different makers work together is pure Songseeker: “Yoke two unfamiliar burdenbeasts to the same wagon and give them time. They will eventually become a good team.”

She grew up in a small tribe of no more than a hundred people. “It taught me to milk the cystybeasts, ride my iron steed, and survive the wildlands. I never left it. I simply brought it with me.”

## The Songseekers and the Hanna

To understand Arclight you need to understand the **hanna**. It is a song that carries knowledge. “Every Songseeker of the Hannabit Circuit knows the hannas by heart. It isn’t hard. The verses cover every aspect of our lives. Likewise, we are woven into the verses as well.”

The whole order is named after the first one: “A dying nomad sang our very first hanna and it had but three lines. These verses gave birth to the name of the Hannabit Circuit. And starting with the first Aldertone, the hanna has led the wandering Songseekers till they, too, become part of the song.”

The **Aldertones** are the elders who pass the songs down, and they rarely teach in words. “Orisha said that the hanna contained all the knowledge we need. She taught me through her actions. We must help each other in order to survive in this world.” In a message thread she explains that the young learners are called **Echolings**, and they must remember the hannas sung across the Circuit.

And this is the line the whole order lives by: “Those who wish to live will make themselves heard. And the Songseekers who wander shall always hear. Such is the purpose of the Hannabit Circuit.”

## Leaving at Fifteen

Orisha’s letter admits she worried. “But Ekut grew up with an immense duty that seemed far too heavy for her. Perhaps it was her early victory over death itself, or her powerful name we took from the hanna. When she turned fifteen, Ekut started to seek the songs and roamed the wildlands. The Songseeker did everything she could to help villages and towns in dire straits, even when the challenges were far too great.”

Arclight tells it more simply: “I started my wandering to look for answers. The wildlands have been unbalanced and I must do something. I listened to the lapping lakes and the whispering woods. And now, I wish to hear your voice.”

Her own hanna, recorded as her fourth file, carries the same weight. It opens on a land that used to grow (“Once the grasses rippled and ripened, while rivers flowed and glistened”) and turns to ruin (“Bones bleached in the wildlands, winds choked with dust”). It asks twice, “Where is the Hannabit Circuit, the land where all may grow?” and ends: “As winds never cease, I shall never quit.”

## The Motorcycle She Built From Salvage

Her HR summary says she treats a motorcycle as “a companion that ‘grows’ with her,” and that every dismantling and modification “brought transformation and new life.”

Arsenal Engineer **Semyon** gives the details. “Initially, I thought it was a custom military vehicle that found its way into the civilian market. I could hardly believe what I saw when it turned out to be a work of engineering that Arclight assembled and tuned on her own.” He lists the parts: an Originium engine that was “a ten-year-old piece of obsolete tech from **Mieszko Industries**,” a drivetrain from **Triglava Armoury**, worn suspensions he guesses came from **Northmarch Support Hub**, and “the most impressive component,” a chassis she handcrafted, “every weld made to the greatest detail.” His verdict: “a near-perfect balance of power, endurance, and handling.”

She did not start out that good. In a message thread she remembers her first attempt: “I tightened the drive chain too much, and it snapped. Only the engine suffered.” Her idea of repair is closer to medicine: “Repairing an iron steed is like treating a cystybeast. One must listen closely before administering the treatment.”

## The Siege That Brought Her to Endfield

Her third file is the story of how she arrived.

“A massive Landbreaker army had encircled a wildlands village.” The Endfield operators garrisoned there and the residents had given up hope. “That was the moment when they saw her. Arclight of the Hannabit Circuit, the lone Songseeker who roared into the town astride her motorcycle.”

She tore through the rear of the breaker army and took charge. The residents built a defense line from wagons and salvage, the elderly and children were moved to the hills, and everyone who could work dug trenches and set up simple Originium defense units.

Then the monsoon came. “A nightlong of torrential rain carved a new creek that coursed through the place. Arclight may have memorized every corner of the wildlands. The river coursed through the trenches that Arclight directed and became a protective moat that protected the entire village. The flood waters also washed through the breakers’ camp and foiled their attack formations.”

Note the hedge in the file: she “may have” known the land that well. The text never says she planned the flood. It only says the trenches she directed became the moat. The Landbreakers tried to ford it, every attack was beaten back, and they fled under the cover of a rainy night.

When the clouds cleared, she found the Endfield operator reporting back, “waved a letter of recommendation to the skies and said, ‘The quaking of the wildlands dirt led me here. Now, please lead me to Endfield.’” The file does not name whose letter it was. Orisha’s recommendation is in her records, so it is the obvious candidate, but that is an inference. For more on the clans she was fighting, see [Jakub Meissen and the Landbreakers’ golden age](https://endfieldhub.org/blog/jakub-meissen-landbreakers-golden-age-lore).

## How Ekut Became Arclight

The name comes from Orisha’s letter, and it happened before she reached Endfield; the siege file already calls her Arclight. The letter does not date it.

“I still remember that rainstorm. During our rescue operation, Ekut ventured alone into the heart of the tempest. We thought she would never come back. Just when all hopes seemed lost, an arc of lightning streaked across the sky. Like that arc, she pierced the fury of nature and leaped onto the last wagon. And with this act, the wildlands began to address her as Arclight.”

Then Orisha adds the line that ties it back to the songs: “The name was woven into the hanna of numerous Songseekers. She took a name from the verses and returned a new name to their songs.”

Her skills still carry it. Her battle cries are “Raging winds!”, “Rolling thunder!” and “Arcing flash!”, and her Ultimate lines are “From the storms it came” and “Like a flash it struck.”

## Why People Find Her Cold

Her colleagues agree on her skills, and on one more thing: “She treated people rather coldly, and spoke in a manner that was rather difficult to understand.” Even Semyon says she rarely spoke.

The files blame the language more than the person. She describes “the morning mist to illustrate an individual’s hesitation,” and people who talk plainly get lost. Those who stick around find “an incredibly reasonable person,” and sometimes hear her say “shocking things that resembled jokes.” The file is firm that she is not trying to be funny: “Operator Arclight was simply speaking her mind.” One of her idle lines is a good example: “Your hair is lovely, like beast hide wet with the dew of dawn. You’ve never seen it? Well, it’s just beautiful.”

## The Trial at the Arsenal

Her message threads with the Endmin start with a Songseeker custom. New arrivals face a trial, the way manglerbeast packmothers make their young compete for food “so that only the strongest may endure.” She asks the Endmin for one. The Endmin sends her to meet the operators at **the Arsenal**, “I think you’ll like it there.”

She does. She reports rooms full of vehicle modification tools, “the craftsmanship is precise, the tools pristine,” and permission to work on her motorcycle there. To repay the favor she tells a story from her travels: she guided a mother in a dangerous childbirth through a storm to a Dusthair Surgeon post, lost her bearings “like a blind fowl,” and followed the headlight of **an unseen rider** who never showed themselves. Mother and child both survived. When the storm passed, only tire marks remained. Was it another Songseeker? “Perhaps not. Yet whether Songseeker or not, they acted to help those in need.”

In the last thread she has taken her bike apart to pass her first modification on to Semyon and the others through hanna, and she notices **Supervisor Perlica** listening, “her eyes calm, like a fowlbeast resting on a branch, watching another soar in the sky,” with the same light in them as the Arsenal crew. Perlica leaves before Arclight can invite her to help. (For Perlica’s own secret hobby, see [our Perlica lore post](https://endfieldhub.org/blog/perlica-lore-backstory-is-she-a-robot-endfield).) The thread ends with a promise: “Endmin, once these troubles are behind us, I will take you for a ride along the ridge beneath the stars,” and to teach the Endmin to ride.

## What She Is Looking For

Orisha’s letter closes on her own past. She once traveled far “to the canopies of starry night,” and from there she “felt a chorus of hope and courage assembled in the floating city.” Her hanna has a matching line: “The drifting city cast to the lands the anchor of hope. And I, in pursuit of silent stars, will start another trip.” The text never names the city. Reading it as Endfield’s own sky base is our interpretation.

What Arclight wants to protect is clear enough. “Ever seen the Prairie Migrations? An army of beasts and wagons chasing the rain and clouds. Such are the things I wish to protect.” And she has heard of the Endmin long before meeting them: “tales about you are sung by even the most distant of tribes. Though these stories may differ wildly, one amazing thing remains the same: hope is always bound to your name.”

## So Who Is Arclight?

A child nobody could explain, pulled out of the wildlands half dead and given a pack beast’s name to grow into. She did, then left at fifteen to answer every call for help, built a machine out of three factories’ leftovers, turned a monsoon against a Landbreaker army, and came to Endfield looking for answers about a land falling out of balance. Somewhere along the way she ran into a storm, came back out of it, and the wildlands gave her a new name.
