**Avywenna’s real name is Lamp.** “Avywenna” is her family name, shared by over 80 people in her hometown, and she tells only the Endmin. Before Endfield, she got a frontier courier job in a coat stained red, saying it was “just ketchup.”

Her HR file sums her up in one line: “Sweet as a sugar carrot, but armed with a big lance.” Everything else in her operator files is the paperwork that proves it: a job form filled in with jokes, a recommendation letter that begs the reader to take her away, a security report that needed five minutes to disarm her, and a pair of letters between her and her mother.

**How we checked this.** Everything below comes from Avywenna’s profile records, voice lines, text messages and story quest dialogue in the official English localization, checked against the current game data on 9 October 2026\. Where the files only hint at something, or where we read between the lines, we say so.

## TL;DR - Key Points

* **Her real name is Lamp.** “Avywenna is actually my family name.” Over 80 people in Alloycarrot share it.
* **She was hired at a frontier post office in a stained coat.** “It’s just ketchup.” The night before, someone escaped a Landbreaker-related fight 23 km away.
* **Her job form was a joke.** Name: “Secret, but yours for 60000 T-Creds.” Health: “Essentially safe and hazard-free.”
* **The postmaster begged Endfield to take her.** His quiet retirement town became “a carnival” of armed visitors and ambulances. “It takes a nutcase to handle another.”
* **Disarming her takes five to six minutes.** Razor blades in her shoe soles, and the straps behind her are “not merely cosmetic.”
* **She walked away from a huge salary and a huge family** to travel alone, and kept hearing one name on the road: the Endministrator’s.
* **She trades secrets.** Her stories (a file stolen past 200 guards, a heart delivered in three days) come one at a time, “to keep u curious.”

## Who Is Avywenna?

![Avywenna's parcel label: from a huge mining family, contents one rabbit-eared courier, handling unknown](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/avywenna-lore/avywenna-parcel-label.webp)

Avywenna is a **Cautus** (the rabbit-eared race) born on **October 25**, authenticated by the Talos-II General Chamber of Commerce (TGCC). At Endfield Industries she is an **Armed Messenger of the Special Logistics Module** under the Specialist Tech Division. In battle she is a 5-star **Electric Striker** with a polearm: she throws Thunderlances onto the field, then recalls them all at once with her battle skill, hitting everything on the way back. Her kit, builds and stats are on [her operator page](https://endfieldhub.org/characters/avywenna).

Her HR summary, signed by HR assistant Martin Marvin Malen, is the best character description in her files:

“Sweet as a sugar carrot, but armed with a big lance … If she intends to get something done, she would do so with the most honeyed approach and most merciless of measures.” She has “exhibited child-like innocence, acted like a mercenary, and negotiated like a professional fraud,” and HR admits it does not know which one is the real her.

Her first profile file compares her to Gilberta, Endfield’s other messenger, known for “uninhibited sweetness and geniality.” Avywenna is the opposite: she “approaches socializing like a professional.” She talks a lot, yet “they hardly got any truth from Avywenna, especially about herself.” She is an excellent listener who steers every conversation and ends it “at just the perfect moments,” and anything she lets slip about herself “is always a subtle bait to get her conversational partner to lay everything out.” Nobody seems to mind. The mystery “only got more people interested in chatting her up.”

## Her Real Name Is Lamp

![Avywenna winking, with "her real name: Lamp" in glowing handwriting](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/avywenna-lore/avywenna-lamp.webp)

The name on her file is not her name. In her fourth trust line she says:

“Just call me Lamp. Avywenna is actually my family name. Hey, it’s no joke to me, so don’t laugh. Keep this secret between us, okay? I don’t want anyone bad coming after you. Unless… Oh? you’re up for looking out for me?”

![A population database search for AVYWENNA returning 80-plus matches](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/avywenna-lore/avywenna-eighty-matches.webp)

Her profile explains why a family name works as a codename. She was born into “a huge Cautus family living in the Free City of Alloycarrot,” and HR checked: “Querying ‘Avywenna’ in the population database of Alloycarrot gives you over 80 individuals with the same name.” Her explanation for her patience and her listening skills is the same family: “Patience easily becomes the most important virtue when living with a huge number of kin.” She also says she “spent my whole childhood fighting for the top spot among my siblings.”

Her mother’s letter, in her fourth profile file, opens with “Lamp:” and closes with “Mama.”

## “It’s Just Ketchup”: The Job Interview

![The post office counter window with her smirking portrait, a dark red stain and a HIRED postmark](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/avywenna-lore/avywenna-hired.webp)

Her second profile file is an HR recruitment log from the **Shaynwood mail distribution station**, a frontier depot. The closest TGCC city is 368 km away and the next mail depot 110 km down the road. The clerk writing it notes that the most attractive regular visitor is “the burdenbeast looking for grass outside the door.”

Then a Cautus woman walks in with “that big red patch on her clothing. It looked about two or three days old, already starting to turn black.” He asks if she needs help. She wants a job.

“It’s just ketchup,” she said, “Nothing to worry about.”

“You sure are one helluva messy eater, young miss.”

The clerk has also just heard about “some Landbreaker-related altercation 23 klicks away. Armed battery involving six individuals. Five were injured and one escaped.” The UWST Security Bureau has asked him to watch out for anyone travelling alone. “Might just be the fugitive.” He also notes she is travelling the opposite way from most people, away from the city.

![An interview card asking how many vehicles she can drive, answered with a handwritten 6](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/avywenna-lore/avywenna-six-vehicles.webp)

He hires her anyway. The interview is one question: how many vehicles can she drive? “Six, including trucks, I think.” “Awesome! You nabbed the post. Start working tomorrow!” She asks where to park, whether there is a power pylon to fix her car, what the network password is (“For movies”), turns down a dinner invitation from his grandfather, Postmaster Laine, and says she will sleep in her car.

![Her job form, with handwritten answers and the health line circled](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/avywenna-lore/avywenna-job-form.webp)

Only after she swaggers out does he read the form:

* **NAME:** Secret, but yours for 60000 T-Creds.
* **AGE:** Forget it, kiddo
* **ADDRESS:** People will pay for this, you know
* **RELATIONSHIPS:** It’s complicated
* **EXPERIENCE:** Professional traveler
* **HEALTH INFORMATION:** Essentially safe and hazard-free

## The Postmaster’s Letter of Recommendation

![A postcard reading "Greetings from Shaynwood," crossed out and stamped "A carnival," with ambulances driving past](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/avywenna-lore/avywenna-carnival.webp)

Her third profile file is Postmaster Laine’s recommendation letter to Endfield. It opens: “I implore you to help an old friend out. Get that woman seated before you OUT of my mail depot.”

Laine chose Shaynwood for his retirement because nothing happens there. Within a year, “my peaceful retirement home of Shaynwood has turned into a carnival.” Cartel agents and “corpo-rats” kept “showing up armed and eager to settle some debt or score.” “A bunch of ambulances came through, and the Originium charging post in town actually made a decent pile of creds. I don’t know what Avy did to them, but from the looks of it, it’s probably nothing good.”

![The postmaster's letter: the OUT line highlighted, a trembling beast captioned "the herd is scared of her," and his sign-off](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/avywenna-lore/avywenna-postmaster-letter.webp)

His other complaints:

* **The livestock.** “This tunnel-crawling Rim Billygal knows nothing about milking cystybeasts. In fact, my cysty-herd is now morbidly afraid of her because she keeps squeezing too hard with those miner hands of hers.”
* **The mail.** She “sorted out the mailing system and got it working like an oiled machine,” so everyone in town will get their presents before the holidays. He was paying her “peanuts.”
* **Her past.** From the way she eats, dresses and acts, and her “bespoke customized outdoor rig,” he guesses she worked private security in the Band. “My money’s on Sloan Security,” one of the biggest family businesses in Alloycarrot. Since she chose Shaynwood as a hideout, he is “fully convinced that she has a serious mental issue.”
* **The Endmin.** After she found his old Endfield resignation certificate, “she started making dinner for us, hoping that I could share something about the Endmin. This is incredibly unsettling.” He worked with the Endmin “a generation” ago.

He signs off: “It takes a nutcase to handle another.”

She remembers him too. “That grumpy guy never once smiled at me … he even called me a ‘troublemaker’ before sending me here. Well, if I’m trouble, at least I’m capable trouble!”

## Five Minutes to Disarm

![A security checkpoint with a disarm timer at 06:00 and a lance in the tray, captioned "far more weapons than expected"](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/avywenna-lore/avywenna-checkpoint.webp)

Endfield’s reply thanks Laine with a supply crate, confirms she passed “a series of tests,” and then asks him something. “Miss Avywenna is armed with far more weapons than we expected. It would take her five to six minutes to fully disarm herself to pass security checkpoints. She even has razor blades hidden in the soles of her shoes.”

![An X-ray of her full-body art, the straps arrowed with "fashion?", a TRAINING DAY calendar and a WEAPON stamp](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/avywenna-lore/avywenna-straps-weapon.webp)

“And those two long straps dangling behind her were not merely cosmetic. We learned what they actually do during security training.” The letter does not say what they do.

They also ask where her lance came from: “She seems very attached to this weapon, but the only thing she told us about it was that the lance was something from her grandmother.” In her voice lines, she adds that “in my family, we say our weapons are basically part of us. Mine just happens to give me a little height boost!”

## Who Was She Before?

![A 36-floor tower with 200 guard dots as she flies out of a broken window](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/avywenna-lore/avywenna-window-jump.webp)

She never gives a straight answer, but the pieces add up.

**Her family business is logistics.** In her mother’s letter, their ancestors crossed the Cosmic Gate as part of “a gigantic convoy column, a great wall of vehicles that stretched all the way to the edge of the horizon,” and “the truckers kept driving, up till the very eve of Severance.” That was the starting capital for their logistics business in Alloycarrot. “My family are Banders and Messenger work has been our calling for generations,” she says. “After that, my great-nan, nanna, and mum slogged for Sloan Security in the Band! Those old girls gave me a ton of grief when I decided to quit…” That fits Laine’s guess, though no file names her employer outright.

**She was paid well and hated the boss.** “Back at my old job, my salary was basically a king’s ransom compared to what I make now!” On a mission she adds that her ex-boss “is nothing like you, Endmin… He’s a real piece of work, only cares about results.” Her mother’s letter warns that “your TGCC job wasn’t exactly low profile and we had a share of visitors.”

**She has stories, and rations them.** In a text thread the Endmin asks what “glorious deeds” she has done. She offers three, one at a time:

* “I once swiped a file that was supposed to be destroyed. Right under the noses of 200 security blokes across 36 floors. Jumped out a window and walked away without a scratch.”
* “I once delivered a heart, in perfect condition, from the peak of Kjersch to the depths of Alloycarrot in 3 days. Saved a Cautus miner’s life.” Two months later, that miner “ended the longest win streak in Asphalt Roundabout’s underground fight ring. He made every bettor lose a fortune.”
* Right before a live-broadcast medal ceremony in Morospolis, “I slipped the stolen UWST flag back into their minister’s hands … right before some clueless Sarkaz mercs could chuck it into a volcano.”

The Endmin: “Now I get why you’re laying low.” Her: “Knw u’d miss me, Endmin.”

## Why She Left Home

Her fourth profile file is two letters. Her mother writes that the family “exploded” when they learned she had quit and left, after an argument at Arlirye. Then she admits something: as a young woman she had her own bag packed by the door, ready to leave, until baby Lamp smiled at her from a feeding chair, “and I stayed. I’m sharing this story with you because I wish to tell you that your hope of leaving home might be an inherited habit.” She will handle the rest of the family. “Don’t forget to send us pictures from your traveling.”

Lamp writes back that “a solo journey is everything I dreamed of.” She describes New Wrankwood (“the place just wouldn’t stop raining. I didn’t like it”), the Northern Corridor and the edge of the Band, travelling with a group of Hannabit Circuit Songseekers, and the old frontier ruins her great-granny talked about. Then:

“FYI, someone just piqued my interest. Whenever I found a place to rest my legs and talk to the locals, I would hear a name called the ‘Endministrator’. Coincidentally, my itinerary basically matched this ‘Endministrator’s’ northward expedition. Is it possible that I’ve found my match in Talos-II in the field of professional traveling?”

![A map with her route north in magenta and the commander's route in yellow running alongside, and a dinner plate](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/avywenna-lore/avywenna-route-north.webp)

Her third trust line finishes the thought: “I’ve journeyed from the Band, endured the old frontier’s cold, spent white nights in Hannabit Circuit’s huts, watched the Seš’qamam’s ship drift through the sky, and heard the endless rain by the Oathkeepers’ fortress. And through it all, Endmin, your name echoed.”

Whether she followed the Endmin’s route on purpose, the files leave to her own word “coincidentally.” She also volunteered for her first mission with the Endmin despite a packed schedule: “Then I heard that you get to partner up with the Endmin for this mission … so I volunteered and nabbed the post.”

## Her First Mission: The Wrong Suspects

Her story quest with the Endmin is a hunt for **Raquel Jones**, a TGCC journalist hiding among refugees at a Valley IV disaster site and getting in the way of the UWST crew. Avywenna works out the profile (a Feline woman with thick glasses who is good at disguises), and the Endmin picks suspects. Pick wrong and you get her deadpan verdicts: a man who sells skirts and only wanted scenic photos (“Ooopsie daisy. We got the wrong person…”), a girl playing with her friend’s glasses (“Oh dear. We got the wrong person…”), and a girl waiting to elope with someone called Kevin (“I have a feeling we grabbed the wrong person…”).

The real one is taking notes on a handyterm, “and I hope I’m not offending anyone. I’ve never seen a refugee taking notes with a handyterm instead of plain old pen and paper.” Avywenna spots a bespoke Douglas pen, knows the makers engrave the owner’s name on the tip, and bluffs that the article Raquel is claiming was not written by “Raquel Jones.” Raquel folds. “And you bit the bait like a hungry little fin, Miss Jones.”

Raquel refuses to leave, escapes, gets lost, and ends up captured by Landbreakers who “refuse to speak human.” Avywenna and the Endmin rescue her, and the scare gives Raquel the angle for her article. Avywenna’s fee for the whole job: “How about a few good words and some positive publicity for Endfield?”

## The Little Things

* **Horror films.** “Still standing after last night’s horror flick? Tsk, guess I’ll have to up the stakes next time.” Her verdict on New Wrankwood’s trauma-recreation project was that “no one was interested in the horror genre.”
* **Shiny things.** “Aurylene?! How did you know I love stuff that shines?”
* **Nail polish.** “Love dat little clink-clank noises when my nails tap on my weapon … like beauty and violence mashed together.”
* **Rim Billiton pride.** “Witness the skills passed down by my Rim Billiton ancestors!” and “the only thing tougher than a big drill is our friendship!”
* **Home.** After ten years of moving, it “still gets me a bit every time I move.” Her rule for a life on the road: “Find urself a home. Even if it’s temp… Ppl who respect the idea of ‘home’ won’t ever lose their way.”
* **Rossi’s shopping trip.** Rossi mentions that “Avywenna took me to TGCC’s clothing and jewelry stores.” Her own story is in the [Rossi lore post](https://endfieldhub.org/blog/rossi-lore-backstory-bloodstained-cloak-endfield).
* **Her last words in battle.** “Lemme face home … one last time.”

## So Was It Really Ketchup?

![Back at the counter window: "So, was it ketchup?" with a price tag reading "the answer: 60,000 credits"](https://endfieldhub.org/images/blog/avywenna-lore/avywenna-the-answer.webp)

The files never say. The clerk’s log puts a red stain two or three days old on her coat, a fight with one escaped survivor 23 km away the night before, and a security warning about lone travellers, and leaves the reader to connect them. Laine’s letter adds the armed visitors and the ambulances. Her own job form lists her health as “essentially safe and hazard-free.”

If you want the truth, her form already names the price: 60000 T-Creds. Or, as she puts it to the Endmin: “how about I tell you a secret in exchange for a little something about you?”
