What are Essences?

Essences in Arknights: Endfield are equippable gems socketed into weapons that provide up to 3 stat lines across three categories: Attribute (base stats like STR/AGI), Combat Stats (ATK, Crit Rate, elemental damage), and Skill bonuses. 5-star essences offer the highest stat potential and are the priority for endgame builds.

Essences are enhancement items that can be socketed into your weapons to provide powerful stat bonuses. They are one of the primary ways to increase your character's combat effectiveness.

Attribute Stats

Base attributes like STR, AGI, WIS, WILL. These affect your character's fundamental stats and scale various abilities.

Combat Stats

Direct combat bonuses like ATK, HP, Crit Rate, and elemental damage. These provide immediate combat improvements.

Skill Stats

Skill-type bonuses like Tactic, Force, Combo, Burst. These enhance specific combat mechanics and playstyles.

Enhancement System

Essences can be enhanced to increase their stat levels. Enhancement uses Essence Dust and has varying success rates.

Enhancement Tips

  • Higher rarity essences have better enhancement success rates
  • Failed enhancements don't consume the essence, only the dust
  • Dismantle unwanted essences to obtain Essence Dust for upgrades

Where to Farm Essences

The best source for farming essences in Arknights: Endfield is Severe Energy Alluvium dungeons. Five dungeon bosses (Axe Armorbeast, Bonekrusher Arsonist, Bonekrusher Ballista, Heavy Sting, and Tidewalker) each drop specific stat pools. Target the dungeon matching the stats your build needs to avoid wasting sanity.

Essences are obtained from Severe Energy Alluvium dungeons. Each dungeon drops a specific pool of stats.

Preset vs Randomized Essences

In Arknights: Endfield, essences come in two forms: Preset Essences with fixed stat combinations and Randomized Essences that drop from dungeons with varying stats.

Preset Essences (150 Total)

These are curated essence configurations optimized for common builds and playstyles, serving as references for recommendations and build planning.

Randomized Essences (From Dungeons)

When farming Severe Energy Alluvium dungeons, you'll receive essences with randomized stats based on the dungeon's stat pool. The number of stats and their level ranges depend on the essence rarity.

5-Star Randomized Essence

Has 3 stats with the following level ranges:

Primary Attr STR, AGI, INT, or WILL
Lv.2-6
Secondary Attr ATK, DEF, Crit Rate, etc.
Lv.4-6
Skill Force, Tactic, etc.
Lv.2-3
4-Star Randomized Essence

Has 2 stats with the following level ranges:

Primary Attr STR, AGI, INT, or WILL
Lv.4-6
Skill Force, Tactic, etc.
Lv.2-3

Stat Pool Categories

Primary Attributes

STR, AGI, INT, WILL - Core character stats that affect derived stats

Secondary Attributes

ATK, DEF, Crit Rate, Crit DMG, elemental damage, etc.

Force, Tactic, Summon, Element, Science, Protect, etc.

Important Note

When farming in-game, you'll encounter randomized essences that may have better or different stat combinations than preset essences. Use the preset essences as a baseline for planning!

Pro Tips for Essences

Prioritize 5-Star Essences

5-star essences have more stat slots and higher maximum levels. Focus on farming and enhancing these for your main DPS characters.

Match Stats to Character

Choose essences that complement your character's kit. DPS characters benefit from ATK and Crit stats, while supports may prefer HP and healing stats.

Don't Discard Low Rarity

Dismantle lower rarity essences instead of discarding them. The Essence Dust you get is essential for enhancing your good essences.

Farm the Right Dungeon

Each dungeon drops specific stat pools. Check which dungeon drops the stats you need before farming to avoid wasting stamina.
