Badge Check: How to Conquer Walking Chrysopolis Agony

The community was caught off guard today, February 22, as the [Inorganic Construct] series of the [Umbral Monument] launched four days earlier than expected. This surprise update has introduced the “Walking Chrysopolis” in Agony Mode—a stage that many are already calling the game’s first true “badge check” for endgame readiness.

If you are struggling to clear this stage and get your “trimmed” medal, here is everything you need to know to beat the drain and secure the win.

The Agony Trap: Dodge at Your Own Risk

The biggest hurdle in Stage 3 Agony Mode is a brutal change to the dodge mechanic. Unlike Normal mode, every time you use a dodge, your active operator consumes 15% of their current HP.

Because the Walking Chrysopolis uses massive energy pulses and wide shockwaves, you are often forced to choose between taking a hit or “paying” for your safety with your own health pool.

Boss Mechanics: Don’t Miss the Window

The Walking Chrysopolis is immune to stagger damage under normal conditions. To break it, you must destroy its weak point, which only appears for about one second before it jumps into the air.

ATK Stacks

If you fail to destroy the weak point during that tiny window, the boss permanently gains a +50% ATK buff that can stack indefinitely. This makes weak point breaks essential for survival in prolonged fights.

Resistances

In Agony Mode, the boss has an extra +20% Electro and Heat Resistance, making popular DPS picks like Laevatain or Avywenna less effective.

No Items

Tactical items are strictly prohibited in Agony Mode, meaning you cannot rely on external healing or buffs.

The MVP: Ardelia and the “Healing Echo”

Ardelia has officially become the essential counter for this stage. Her unique kit allows her to provide “echoed” healing that keeps the entire squad alive even while you focus on dodging and DPS.

Shadows of Mr. Dolly

Her Battle Skill (“Dolly Rush”) creates healing spots on the ground.

Friendly Presence

When your controlled operator picks up a healing shadow, it doesn’t just heal them—it also heals whichever teammate has the lowest HP percentage.

Debuff Power

Ardelia applies Corrosion, which lowers enemy resistances and allows your team to deal massive damage during the boss’s short stagger windows.

Pro-Tips for the Win

Go Physical

Since the boss resists Heat and Electro, physical teams led by Chen Qianyu and the Endministrator are currently top-tier for this encounter.

Minimize Dodging

Try to “walk” out of red telegraphs instead of using the dodge button to save your HP.

The “Turtle” Strat

If you’re struggling to survive, try running a “sustain-heavy” team with Ardelia and a second healer like Snowshine or Xaihi to brute-force the attrition.

Stay Behind

Most of the boss’s sweeps and shockwaves are forward-facing. Staying behind its back legs significantly reduces the number of dodges you’ll need to make.

The 10-minute timer is generous, so don’t rush—focus on surviving the HP drain and timing those weak point breaks!
