Table of Contents
The Ranch is the half of Yuanyuan Manor's Backyard that raises beasts. It supplies the meat, eggs, milk and fish your inn cooks with, and it is the only practical source of the [A] grade that the best recipes need. This guide covers every Pen and Pond, what each beast produces, how the two feeds work, how to make feed in your AIC, and how to set the Ranch up at each Inn Rating. For the crops side, see the Yuanyuan Manor auto-farm layout. For what to cook, see the inn recipes guide and the inn strategy guide.

Unlocking Pens and Ponds
Every enclosure is bought with Spirit Money from Innkeeping, and later ones need a higher Inn Rating. A Pen holds one land beast, chosen from three, and you can swap the beast in a Pen at any time. Ponds are for Rainbow Fin only.
| Enclosure | Inn Rating | Cost | Running total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pen 1 | 1 | 1 | |
| Pen 2 | 1 | 101 | |
| Pond 1 | 2 | 301 | |
| Pen 3 | 2 | 601 | |
| Pen 4 | 2 | 1,101 | |
| Pen 5 | 3 | 1,901 | |
| Pond 2 | 3 | 2,901 | |
| Pen 6 | 3 | 4,401 | |
| Auto-Feed | Any | 6,401 |
The first Pen costs a token 1 Spirit Money and the second 100, so you can run two beasts from your first inn session. The last Pen (1,500) and the second Pond (1,000) are the expensive ones and wait for Inn Rating 3.
The Four Beasts
All 4 beasts share the same production stats in the 1.6 data, so the only question is which product you need. Here is what each one yields and how much of the inn menu depends on it:
| Beast | Lives in | Standard product | [A] product | Recipes using [A] | Recipes using standard |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pen | 9 | 3 | |||
| Pen | 4 + Bottled Milk [A] | 2 + Bottled Milk | |||
| Pen | 6 | 5 | |||
| Pond | 6 | 3 |
Meaty Slug
Meat [A] goes into 9 recipes: Roasted Kebab, Chaoshou & Numbing Sauce, Boundary Lung Roll, Mala Xiang Guo, Clay Jar Meat, Immortal Galore of Fortune, Meaty Pilaf, Melon & Meatball Soup, Goldfloss Chiffon. Standard Meat is used in 3 recipes (Fin-Savory Shreds, Shroom Dumpling, Meat Baozi).
Burdenbeast
Milk [A] goes into 4 recipes: Sourberry Pudding, Cream of Shroom, Pearly Fruit Punch, Redbloom Cheesecake. A Filling Unit also bottles it into Bottled Milk [A]. Standard Milk is used in 2 recipes (Steamed Flan, Salted Cheese Crackers).
Sable-chested Fowlbeast
Egg [A] goes into 6 recipes: Sweetbeans on Snow, White Fin Broth, Snow-Veiled Mooncake, Redbloom Cheesecake, "Spoon Swimmer", Goldfloss Chiffon. Standard Egg is used in 5 recipes (Steamed Flan, Salted Cheese Crackers, Hand-Kneaded Noodle, Mato & Egg, Yuanyuan Veggy Rice).
Rainbow Fin
Fin Fillet [A] goes into 6 recipes: Fin Dumpling, Roll of Fin-Supreme, Immortal Galore of Fortune, Sweet & Sour Fingot, White Fin Broth, Fin-Mato Soup. Standard Fin Fillet is used in 3 recipes (Fin & Pickled Greens, Immortal Galore of Fortune, Skilleted Fin).
Satiety, Happiness and Production
A beast has two timers. Satiety keeps it producing at all, and Happiness decides whether it produces the [A] grade. The game's own help page puts it like this:
Spend Spirit Money to unlock Pens. You can then place beasts in it. Beasts in the Pens can also be replaced.
After selecting a type of feed, click the [Feed] button to use the feed and restore the beast's [Satiety] to 24 hours, during which the beast can yield normal products.
At Inn Rating Level 3, beasts can be fed with more advanced feed that can restore the beast's [Satiety] as well as [Happiness] to 24 hours, during which the beast can yield quality products.
Spend Spirit Money to permanently unlock the [Auto-Feed] feature.
When you own ≥ 1 of the selected feed, the Ranch will auto-use the feed when the beast's [Satiety] reaches ZERO.
If an advanced feed has been added, the Ranch will auto-use that feed when the beast's [Happiness] reaches ZERO.
- Feed sets the timer, it does not add to it. Feeding sets Satiety (and Happiness, with Double-Yummy Feed) to 24 hours, so feeding a beast with 10 hours left throws those 10 hours away.
- Zero Happiness pauses [A] output. The Ranch shows "ZERO Happiness, production paused" for quality products. Keep Double-Yummy Feed going or the beast drops back to standard goods.
- Standard output is twice as fast. In the data the standard yield rate is 10 against 5 for [A], and storage holds 480 standard or 240 [A] products, so both fill up over the same stretch of time. The game does not state the units, so treat these as relative.
Feed: Buy or Make
Yummy Feed
Satiety +24h
Shop: 50 Spirit Money for 3 (16.7 per beast-day)
Double-Yummy Feed
Satiety +24h and Happiness +24h
Shop: 150 Spirit Money for 3 (50 per beast-day)
Both feeds are sold in Job Rusher's Backyard Use tab. Buying works early on, but a full Ranch of 8 beasts on Double-Yummy Feed eats 8 feed a day, which is 400 Spirit Money a day from the shop. Making it in your AIC is almost free:
How to make Yummy Feed
| Step | Where | In | Out |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Harvest | One harvest | Pingtuber x30 + Pingtuber Leaf x3 | |
| 2. Shred | Pingtuber Leaf x1 | Pingtuber Leaf Powder x3 | |
| 3. Mix | Pingtuber Leaf Powder x1 |
How to make Double-Yummy Feed
| Step | Where | In | Out |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Harvest | One harvest | Ballpea x30 + Ballpea Pod x3 | |
| 2. Shred | Ballpea Pod x1 | Ballpea Pod Powder x3 | |
| 3. Mix | Ballpea Pod Powder x1 |
The numbers work out generously: one plot harvest gives 3 Ballpea Pods, each shreds into 3 powder, and each powder makes one feed, so one Ballpea plot harvest makes 9 Double-Yummy Feed, more than a full day for all 8 beasts. You already grow Ballpea and Pingtuber for the inn menu, so the byproducts come free. Our Yuanyuan Inn Items blueprint automates Double-Yummy Feed in the Jingyu Valley sub AIC.
Auto-Feed
Auto-Feed is a one-time 2,000 Spirit Money unlock, and it removes the only chore the Ranch has. The rules:
- Choose a feed. When you own at least 1 of it, the Ranch uses it the moment a beast's Satiety reaches zero.
- Add the advanced feed (Double-Yummy) and the Ranch also uses it when Happiness reaches zero, so [A] output never stops.
- It feeds at zero, which is also the most efficient time, since feed sets the timer rather than adding to it.
Buy it as soon as you have a steady feed supply, ideally at Inn Rating 3 when Double-Yummy Feed opens up. Without feed in stock it does nothing, so keep a buffer from your AIC line or the shop.
Turning Milk into Drinks
Milk has a second use: a Filling Unit bottles it into an inn drink, and drinks need no kitchen time.
| Machine | In | Out | Sells for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | |||
| 35 |
Bottled Milk [A] sells for 35 and carries the Milky trait, which some Gourmands and the Cozily Sweet theme prefer. The Inn Items blueprint bottles it automatically.
Ranch Setup by Inn Rating
How many beasts you need is set by how many enclosures are open. Fill every slot: an empty Pen or Pond produces nothing.
| Inn Rating | Pens open | Ponds open | Land beasts to place | Rainbow Fin to place | Feed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2 | 0 | 2 | None yet | Yummy Feed |
| 2 | 4 | 1 | 4 | 1 | Yummy Feed |
| 3 | 6 | 2 | 6 | 2 | Double-Yummy Feed |
Inn Rating 1: 2 beasts
Place 1 Meaty Slug, 1 Sable-chested Fowlbeast. Unlock Pen 1 (1) and Pen 2 (100). The starter dishes need Meat and Egg (Meat Baozi, Hand-Kneaded Noodle, Mato & Egg), so one Meaty Slug and one Fowlbeast cover them. No Pond yet, so no fish.
Inn Rating 2: 4 beasts and 1 fish
Place 1 Meaty Slug, 2 Sable-chested Fowlbeast, 1 Burdenbeast, 1 Rainbow Fin. Unlock Pens 3 and 4 (300 and 500) and Pond 1 (200). That is 4 land beasts and 1 Rainbow Fin. Add a Burdenbeast for Milk and a second Fowlbeast, since standard Egg is in the most early recipes (Hand-Kneaded Noodle, Mato & Egg, Yuanyuan Veggy Rice). Still Yummy Feed only.
Inn Rating 3: 6 beasts and 2 fish
Place 2 Meaty Slug, 2 Sable-chested Fowlbeast, 2 Burdenbeast, 2 Rainbow Fin. Unlock Pens 5 and 6 (800 and 1,500) and Pond 2 (1,000). That is the full Ranch: 6 land beasts and 2 Rainbow Fin, 8 in total. Switch every beast to Double-Yummy Feed and unlock Auto-Feed. This is when the top recipes become cheap to cook.
Endgame mix
Ranked by how many recipes and drinks need their [A] product:
| Beast | [A] recipes and drinks | Suggested enclosures |
|---|---|---|
| 9 | 2 Pens | |
| 6 | 2 Pens | |
| 6 | Both Ponds | |
| 5 | 2 Pens |
Swap Pens to match the theme you are farming. Since the beast in a Pen can be replaced at any time, lean the Ranch toward Fin Fillet for School of Fins, toward Meat and Fin for Ocean & Land, and toward Milk and Egg for Cozily Sweet. The 5★ theme cards list each theme's best dishes.
Is the Ranch Worth It?
Without the Ranch, every [A] Meat, Egg, Milk and Fin Fillet costs 20 Spirit Money from Job Rusher. Boundary Lung Roll needs 2 Meat [A] and Redbloom Cheesecake needs 2 Egg [A] and a Milk [A], and bought ingredients leave those 125-price dishes with about 4% profit. A Double-Yummy Feed costs 50 from the shop, or next to nothing from your AIC, and keeps one beast producing [A] goods for 24 hours. Our shop-vs-grow table shows the margin for every dish.
Tips and Strategy
- Unlock the first two Pens on day one. They cost 101 Spirit Money together and the starter menu runs on Meat and Egg.
- Feed at zero, never early. Feed sets the timer to 24 hours, so topping up wastes what was left.
- Plan for Rating 3. Double-Yummy Feed only works from Inn Rating 3. Before that, Yummy Feed is all you need.
- Grow one Ballpea plot for feed. Each harvest makes 9 Double-Yummy Feed through the Shredding Unit and Reactor Crucible.
- Stock feed before you buy Auto-Feed. It only works while you own at least 1 of the selected feed.
- Never let Happiness lapse on [A] beasts. At zero Happiness, quality production pauses.
- Swap beasts per theme. Pens can be reassigned at any time, so shape the Ranch around the theme you are pushing to 5★.
- Keep Rainbow Fin in both Ponds. Fin Fillet [A] is in 6 recipes, including the School of Fins rewards.
- Bottle surplus Milk [A]. Bottled Milk [A] sells for 35 with zero cook time.
- Check stock before each session. The Ranch's Produced panel on the Map shows how much [A] stock you have, so you can pick a menu you can actually cook.
Common Mistakes
- Buying Double-Yummy Feed before Rating 3. The Ranch cannot use it yet.
- Feeding by hand every login. Early feeding wastes time left on the timer, and Auto-Feed does it better.
- Buying [A] ingredients instead of ranching them. At 20 each they eat most of a premium dish's price.
- Filling every Pen with one beast. Recipes need a mix of Meat, Egg and Milk, so a one-product ranch leaves dishes uncookable.
- Turning on Auto-Feed with no feed stock. It quietly does nothing.
Method: enclosure costs, beast stats, feed effects, the Auto-Feed rules (quoted from the in-game help page), feed prices, crafting recipes and harvest yields all come from the 1.6 game data, checked 2026-10-24. Recipe counts come from the inn recipe tables. Production rate units are not stated in the data, so rates are given as relative values. Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get [A] products from the Yuanyuan Ranch?
Feed beasts Double-Yummy Feed. It sets both Satiety and Happiness to 24 hours, and a beast with both above zero yields quality [A] products such as Meat [A] and Milk [A]. Double-Yummy Feed can only be used from Inn Rating 3.
Which beast should I put in each Pen?
All 4 beasts produce at the same rate, so pick by product. Meat [A] is in the most inn recipes (9), then Egg [A] and Fin Fillet [A] (6 each) and Milk [A] (4, plus Bottled Milk [A]). A balanced endgame ranch runs 2 Meaty Slugs, 2 Fowlbeasts, 2 Burdenbeasts and Rainbow Fin in both Ponds, and swaps Pens for a theme when needed.
How much does it cost to unlock the whole Ranch?
The 6 Pens cost 1, 100, 300, 500, 800, 1,500 Spirit Money and the 2 Ponds cost 200 and 1,000, for 4,401 in total. Auto-Feed is another 2,000. Later Pens and both Ponds need Inn Rating 2 or 3.
How does Auto-Feed work?
Auto-Feed is a one-time 2,000 Spirit Money unlock. When you own at least 1 of the selected feed, the Ranch uses it as soon as a beast's Satiety reaches zero, and if you added an advanced feed it uses that one when Happiness reaches zero.
How do you make Double-Yummy Feed?
Harvest Ballpea to get Ballpea Pods (3 per plot harvest). A Shredding Unit turns 1 Ballpea Pod into 3 Ballpea Pod Powder, and a Reactor Crucible turns 1 powder plus 1 Clean Water into 1 Double-Yummy Feed. Yummy Feed works the same way from Pingtuber Leaf. You can also buy 3 Double-Yummy Feed for 150 Spirit Money.
Should I feed beasts before their Satiety runs out?
No. Feed sets Satiety (and Happiness) to 24 hours rather than adding to it, so feeding a beast that still has time left wastes the difference. Feed at zero, which is exactly what Auto-Feed does.
Is the Ranch worth it over buying ingredients?
Yes for [A] goods. Job Rusher sells [A] Meat, Egg, Milk and Fin Fillet at 20 Spirit Money each, which wipes out most of a premium dish's price. One Double-Yummy Feed costs 50 from the shop, or almost nothing if you make it, and keeps a beast producing [A] goods for 24 hours.
