Warfarin is back, and she is the same Warfarin from the original Arknights: the vampire Sarkaz medic who now leads Rhodes Island on Talos-II and brings the Reconveners into the world. She is not a playable operator yet. The Rhodes Island PV at the Version 1.6 broadcast on October 6, 2026 ended on her face, which is why the r/Endfield thread “Warfarin is back” went to the top of the subreddit overnight.

How we checked this. The Endfield half of this page comes from the game’s official English text: the Reconvener lore files plus Gilberta’s, Snowshine’s and Laevatain’s voice lines and operator files, checked against the current Version 1.6 data on 7 October 2026. The 1.6 reveal is from the official special broadcast, as reported by Inven Global. Original Arknights details are from her in-game profile in the first game.

TL;DR

  • Same person, not a copy. Warfarin is the original Rhodes Island medic from Arknights. Her Sarkaz lifespan bridged the gap between Terra and Talos-II.
  • She leads Rhodes Island on Talos-II. The game calls her “the leader of Rhodes Island at that time” in the era of the First Originium repairs.
  • She is the reason Reconveners exist. She decoded the data shards in the First Originium and designed the process that leads them out of the Originium Woods.
  • She sent Endfield’s Rhodes Island operators out into the world. Gilberta, Snowshine and Laevatain all mention her by name.
  • Not playable yet. No kit, no banner, no character ID. The 1.6 PV is a tease for future versions, not a release date.

Who Is Warfarin in Endfield?

In Endfield, Warfarin is the head of Rhodes Island’s presence on Talos-II. Rhodes Island, the pharmaceutical company and rescue organization at the heart of the first game, survives into Endfield’s era as a smaller group that works with Endfield Industries but keeps a low profile. Gilberta says so directly: Warfarin told her “Rhodes Island was not in a position to make itself known to the public.”

The key line is in the Reconvener lore files:

“To achieve various objectives, both the Endministrator and M3 tacitly allowed Warfarin (the leader of Rhodes Island at that time), to conduct emergency repairs and decontamination of the First Originium.”

So Warfarin was trusted with the most dangerous object in the setting, and the sign-off came from the two figures at the top of Endfield. (If you want to know who M3 is and why her approval matters, see Who Is M3 in Arknights Endfield.)

Warfarin and the Reconveners

Reconveners are the reason many Endfield operators feel like echoes of the original cast. The game’s explanation runs through Warfarin at every step:

  1. The data vein. While deciphering a data vein in the First Originium, a data shard “decrypted from the Assimilated Universe into realspace.” That was the first Reconvener, and it was an accident: “Warfarin was also unprepared for the arrival.”
  2. Communing with the shards. “Warfarin later found a way to commune with the data shards.” Despite the concerns of others who knew about them, she began actively exploring the Originium Woods.
  3. Designing the process. She met shards that were willing to come to Talos-II and “designed a process to better lead them out of the Woods and enter the new world.” Many Reconveners arrived while the Endministrator was in hibernation.
  4. Carrying the weight. “Leading Reconveners out of the Woods is essentially an act of creation. Warfarin bore the responsibilities for her actions.”

The files are clear that Reconveners are not resurrections. Each one realizes it is “a unique individual,” carrying only partial, “distant” memories of Terra, plus the skills of its original counterpart. That is why Warfarin, who knew many of those originals personally, sometimes slips and treats a Reconvener as the old friend it was built from. We cover the full system in Are Endfield Characters Different From the Originals?

The same file has the best joke in Endfield’s lore. After every stress-fueled episode, she reminds everyone that her “years of extensive experience” made it all worthwhile, with a footnote: the figure was “500 years a century ago, 300 years half a century ago, and dropping to 20 years in her most recent claims.” Anyone who played the first game will recognize a woman who has refused to state her age for a very long time.

The Operators She Shaped

Warfarin has no voice lines of her own yet, but several operators talk about her, and together they paint a clear picture.

Gilberta is the closest to her. Her first delivery as a Talos-II Messenger was “a recommendation that Surgeon Warfarin wrote for me,” and the only instruction was “Wait for the Endministrator.” Warfarin set no delivery deadline, just “Go see the world,” so Gilberta spent two years wandering Talos-II before reaching Endfield. She still checks her compass for the direction of Rhodes Island: “Surgeon Warfarin is there, along with memories that will never fade.”

Gilberta’s “Topic: Warfarin” line is the most revealing thing written about her:

“Warfarin remembered my birthday wrong … and she looked really guilty while apologizing to me… Then she called me by the wrong name in panic… She appeared really confused … and lost. And even after I left, she brooded by the dinner table by herself for a really, really long time…”

Read next to the Reconvener files, that is a very old woman mixing up the people she raised with the people she lost. It is the saddest line in the game about her.

Snowshine carries a snowboard that was “a gift from Lady Warfarin when I left Rhodes Island,” built from rare materials like her shield.

Laevatain got a giant jigsaw puzzle in the mail: “Warfarin mailed me a jigsaw puzzle. She said it features the scenery, peoples, and histories of Terra.” Official character introductions also say Laevatain once traveled across Talos-II alone “with Warfarin’s authorization,” and that Angelina joined Endfield’s partnership program “shortly after leaving Warfarin’s facilities.”

The pattern: Warfarin is the person who sends Rhodes Island’s people out into the world and keeps writing to them after they leave.

Warfarin in the Original Arknights

In the first Arknights, Warfarin is a 5-star Medic operator and one of Rhodes Island’s senior staff. Her profile makes her:

  • A Sarkaz from Kazdel, of the blood-drinking line that Terra’s legends describe as creatures stalking the night. Asked about those legends, her reply is a flat “That’s most of my kin, yes.”
  • Founder and administrator of the Rhodes Island Blood Bank.
  • One of the builders of Rhodes Island’s medical system, alongside Kal’tsit.
  • Cheerful, nosy and suspiciously old. She loves gossip, collects blood samples with too much enthusiasm, and never gives a straight answer about her age.

That last point turns out to be the setup for Endfield. Her age gag in the first game was a long-running joke. In Endfield, it is the whole reason she can still be at Rhodes Island while almost everyone she worked with is a memory.

Why Is Warfarin Still Alive?

Endfield takes place long after the first game, and most of the original cast is gone. Warfarin’s Sarkaz bloodline lives far longer than most of Terra’s peoples, so she is one of the few characters who can plausibly be the genuine article on Talos-II. The game never calls her a Reconvener, never says she was decrypted, and treats her memories of Terra as real ones. Everything about her says she lived through the whole gap.

That makes her unique in Endfield’s cast: a living witness to both games, running the project that rebuilds her old colleagues from data.

The 1.6 PV: Is Warfarin Playable?

No, not yet. Here is what was actually shown and said at the Version 1.6 “Sanctuary of Ink” broadcast on October 6, 2026:

  • A Rhodes Island PV aired, and Warfarin appears at the end of it.
  • The story of Rhodes Island “traveling to Talos-II to assist Endfield Industries Operators with pioneering and construction will unfold in future versions.”
  • Rhodes Island operator Kerr is set to appear in the upcoming Cretaceous Frontiers region.

Nothing in the broadcast gave Warfarin a release window, a rarity or a class, and the current game data has no operator entry for her. A Rhodes Island storyline that she leads makes a playable Warfarin far more likely than it was a week ago, but anything beyond “she is coming back into the story” is speculation for now. For what is actually on banners, see the 1.6 Sanctuary of Ink recap.

What to Watch For

  • A Rhodes Island story chapter. “Future versions” probably means after 1.6. A chapter with Rhodes Island as a faction is the likeliest place for her to speak on screen.
  • Her own voice. So far every Warfarin line in Endfield is someone else describing her. Her first dialogue will tell us how much the years and the Reconvener project have cost her.
  • Kerr and Cretaceous Frontiers. Kerr is the next confirmed Rhodes Island face. Watch how the game explains where Kerr came from, because that tells us how Rhodes Island moves people to Talos-II.
  • The Amiya question. If anyone on Talos-II knows whether a shard of Amiya survived, it is the person who runs the decryption. Our Amiya theory breakdown covers why that matters.

We will update this page when Warfarin gets lines, a kit or a banner.
