Ember’s two funniest Baker chats in Arknights Endfield: she trains so hard every Training Cabin visit ends in a damage report, her sparring partners turn into a chanting cult, and her wedding gift idea is a piece of a monster.

Ember is a knight of the Order of Steel Oath who fights the giant monsters called Aggeloi. In Baker, the game’s phone messaging app, she is also the funniest person on the base, and she never once tries to be. Both chats below are hers, quoted from the game.

How we checked this. Every quote comes from Ember’s first and second trust chats in the official English localization, read from the current game data on 3 November 2026. The stick-figure frames come from our Short of the same story; the opening art was made for that video. Calling her training group a cult is our joke, not the game’s word.

Endfield Hub is a fan-made resource and is not affiliated with Hypergryph or Yostar.

Short version first: both chats as a stick-figure comedy Short from our YouTube channel. Every line is quoted in full below. More backstories are on the Endfield lore hub.

TL;DR - Key Points

  • Her daily routine: “Eighty kilometers of endurance running. Forty sets of heavy bench press. Two to four hours of sparring.” On the surface she doubles it.
  • Paperwork: every Training Cabin visit comes with “a special request form … and the inevitable damage report form.”
  • The cult: her sparring partners keep tagging in fresh people, plan their own workouts and shout “We must do this for Endfield.” She calls it “admirable determination.”
  • The advice: “Next time in the Training Cabin, just encourage them through eye contact.”
  • The wedding: two strangers she rescued from a cave invited her to their wedding, and she has no idea what to bring.
  • The gift: “I will obtain a similar remnant as a gift for them,” meaning a piece of the kind of monster that nearly killed them.

How Hard Does Ember Train?

The first chat opens with Ember sending her training schedule and a Training Cabin application. The Endmin reads it and asks the obvious question: does she train at this intensity every day?

She does. “I must confess, without completing my daily regimen, I find it hard to settle my mind.” Then the numbers:

“Eighty kilometers of endurance running. Forty sets of heavy bench press. Two to four hours of sparring, depending on the others’ capabilities.”

And that is the indoor version. “When training on the surface, I double the workload. There is more space to maneuver, more opponents to work with.”

When the Endmin suggests she rest once in a while, she answers with her motto: “I have always believed that it is better to shed sweat in training than blood in battle.” Showing up to the sessions other people request is, to her, “a matter of courtesy.”

Why Does Ember Need a Damage Report Every Time?

Ember is grateful the operator who oversees the Training Cabin is “rather understanding.” Still:

“That said, my every visit still involves a special request form … and the inevitable damage report form.”

The Endmin double-checks: every visit? Ember apologizes, “I’m truly sorry…”, and the Endmin lets her off. “The logistics operators have told me the Training Cabin is rarely in perfect condition anyway.”

How Did Ember Accidentally Start a Cult?

The Endmin asks if she is the other operators’ instructor now. Ember is not sure: “Initially, it was only a single request for a sparring session.”

“Most found my pace difficult to match, necessitating frequent substitutions. I advised them to bring additional operators. They did, and the numbers have only grown since.”

The Endmin starts to suspect something is off and asks if they have been acting strangely. Not that Ember has noticed. The group now plans the sessions themselves, “with high intensity that even I have to take seriously.” Then she describes the rest without a hint of alarm:

“No matter how exhausted they are, as long as I have not ceased, they will call out phrases such as “We must do this for Endfield” or “Taste our new tactics” and resume training.”

“Each time I offer encouragement, they surpass their limits and sustain their efforts all day. Such admirable determination.”

What Is the Eye Contact Advice?

“Ember, I have some advice for you…” “Go on.” The chat ends on the Endmin’s only workable solution:

“Next time in the Training Cabin, just encourage them through eye contact.”

Why Is Ember Worried About a Wedding?

The second chat starts with the Endmin noticing Ember zoning out on her breaks. She admits her thoughts have wandered, though “I will not allow personal matters to interfere with my mission performance.” The cause is a wedding invitation.

“They were strangers prior to the incident. To evade the Aggeloi, they took refuge together in the same cavern. By the time we reached them, they had already been caring for one another for several days.”

“The bride talked about inviting me when I rescued them. I did not think they would actually follow through.”

The invitation is fine. The problem is the gift: “While I could consult others on attire and etiquette, the matter of the gift remains difficult.”

What Were Weddings Like in the Order of Steel Oath?

This is the part of the chat that is not a joke. Weddings are rare in the Assault Banner, and the few Ember attended were on the front lines.

“Some weddings were attended by only one newlywed, the other, having passed, standing in only through their commander or family. It was difficult to know whether to celebrate or mourn first.”

She quotes Castellan Zasso, “those who fight in their partner’s name demonstrate loyalty itself”, and asks if those weddings can still count as positive events. The Endmin says of course they can: “You’ve witnessed a love that transcends life and death.”

“Thank you, Endmin. I think I know what to gift those two.”

What Wedding Gift Does Ember Pick?

“For them, the most memorable moment is surely when they vowed to share their fates.” The reply options at this point are “Wait…” and “Got a bad feeling about this.” The Endmin asks if she means a gift that reminds them of that moment. She does.

“Correct. During the rescue, a Thrylissoron nearly breached the defenses. That one was dealt with, though Aggeloi like it are not uncommon.”

“I will obtain a similar remnant as a gift for them.”

The Endmin’s last message is a shocked emoji and “You really don’t have to go that far…”

The game never says whether she went through with it. “Obtain a similar remnant” reads to us as hunting another one, but that is our reading.

Is There More to Ember’s Story?

Her third trust chat is the serious one: the Order of Steel Oath sends her Aggeloi samples to identify the creature codenamed High Tower, which destroyed her old squad. Read the full story of her squad in why Ember turns every recruit away, and her kit and files on Ember’s operator page.
