Rossi Lore: Why Is Her Cloak Bloodstained?
Table of Contents

Rossi’s cloak is stained with the blood of her family, the Pack members who died saving her from a Bonekrusher ambush when she was a baby. She says touching it brings her peace, “as if they never really left.”

That is the darkest fact in a character who, on the surface, is the sweetest kid aboard the ship. Her operator files, voice lines and story quests show both halves: the polite young wolf who collects daggers and wants to learn how to lead, and the girl who drops a bandit boss in seconds when he says the wrong name.

How we checked this. Everything below comes from Rossi’s profile records, voice lines, item text and story quest summaries in the official English localization, checked against the current game data on 9 October 2026. Where a line could belong to more than one speaker, or where we read between the lines, we say so.

Short version first: Rossi’s story in under two minutes, from our YouTube channel. The full story with every source follows below. More backstories are on the Endfield lore hub.

TL;DR - Key Points

  • Her cloak carries her family’s blood. It is stained with the blood of “my kindred,” and touching it feels “as if they never really left.”
  • The Bonekrushers ambushed the Pack over ten years ago. She and her brother Wulfgard survived. “Too many family members died at their hands just to save me.”
  • An Elder Wolf carried her out as a baby. He lived the rest of his life in pain, and she visited him every week.
  • At his funeral she broke down, then never cried again. “Saving you was the greatest thing he ever did.”
  • On the ship she is adorable. She visited nearly every department head on day one, collects daggers and coins, and keeps secret notes on how the Endmin leads.
  • In a fight she is ruthless. On her first job for the clan, a bandit boss called her a “tiny pup.” A fork and a dagger later, his tent was wrecked.
  • Wulfperl means “the Pack’s treasure.” She named herself Rossi after the color of her cloak.

Who Is Rossi?

Rossi's title card: "Rossi, a young wolf of the Pack," over her full-body art with a trail of red paw prints

Rossi’s full name is Rossina Wulfperl Luppino. She is a Lupo born on March 10, a member of a Landbreaker clan known as the Pack, and one of its representatives in a partnership with Endfield Industries, where she serves under the Specialist Tech Division. In battle she is a 6-star Physical Guard who fights with a sword and a dagger. Her kit, builds and damage numbers are on her operator page.

Her HR summary says that because of her brother Wulfgard’s “unique status,” nearly all of Endfield’s dealings with the Pack go through her. She does not live aboard full-time: she spends most of her time with the Pack on clan affairs, though “locating her is far less challenging than finding Wulfgard.” Lil’ Dodge rates her: “Exceptionally high tactical acumen. Possesses considerable leadership charisma and battlefield command talent.” She is also Oripathy positive, per her medical report.

She introduces herself two ways. The formal one: “I am Rossina Wulfperl Luppino, Prima Elite of the Pack, future Capo, and strongarm of the Don! Remember this well!” The real one: “I’m Rossina, granted name Wulfperl, meaning the Pack’s treasure! You’d better remember that! Ah … Endmin, you can call me whatever you prefer…”

The name

Children of the Pack go through a coming-of-age ceremony at thirteen, and the clan gathers to choose a granted name for the new “wolf.” Her brother Catello became Wulfgard. She became Wulfperl, the Pack’s treasure. “Every time I say it, I can feel the blood of the Pack flowing through me.”

She does not use it as a codename, though. Nobody outside the clan calls her that yet, so it feels embarrassing, and “‘Rossina’ just sounds too childish … no way I’m using that! I ended up going with ‘Rossi’ as my codename, after the color of my cloak.”

Why Is Her Cloak Bloodstained?

She answers this herself, in her voice line about the cape:

“It’s stained with the blood of my kindred … but to me, every time I touch it, I feel an incredible sense of peace, as if they never really left. This cloak burns, reminding me never to forget the vendetta, but it also gives me courage, and the warmth of family… Yes, they’re always with me.”

So the cloak is two things at once: a memorial and a grudge. The rest of her story explains both.

The Sweetest Kid on the Ship

Her HR file says Rossi fits the public image of the Pack better than her brother does: “devoted to the family, conforms to the code, and respectful of their elders.” On her very first day aboard, she “paid visits to nearly every department head as well as operators of considerable renown.” Her manners “left a strong impression on many.”

The crew adores her, and she half minds. “The big brothers and sisters on Dijiang always treat me like a kid! But I’m already an elite of the Pack. Next time I’ll make it clear to them, this has to stop! …Though the snacks they give me are really good…”

  • She collects daggers and coins, because “a mature wolf shouldn’t like childish things.” Her first dagger was a reward after an emergency hunt, kept in a shiny golden box. She once lost her whole treasure box in a move, and what worried her most was the “really embarrassing stuff inside”: crafts she made as a kid.
  • She learns from everyone. Perlica explained Protosyncs to her, Avywenna took her shopping at TGCC, and Xaihi “said she wants to discuss quadratic time complexity with me… I don’t even know what that means.”
  • She carves. Her item text describes a small carving knife she uses “to sculpt all sorts of legends and heroes,” and says that when lonely she sculpts stones “into weird shapes,” then adds: “Perhaps this little Bonekrusher-hunting Landbreaker has a hobby after all.”
  • She knows apples. A plate of apples “Rossi personally sliced” comes with the note that, tree or market stall, “she can always identify the sweetest one.”

Her notes on the Endmin

Rossi is studying the Endmin. Her trust lines start with her getting caught: “I’m just taking notes on your words and actions, Endmin. I think even the details are worth learning from. Ah … please don’t look! These are personal notes!”

The reason is the clan. “I know I’m not skilled enough yet to lead the Pack, but the elders insist I handle the clan’s affairs… So I want to learn more by your side, Endmin.” She grew up thinking Nonno Rozzan, the clan elder she calls Nonno (grandpa), was the strongest person in the world, until he kept saying “there’s always someone greater” and naming the Endmin. She also gets caught rehearsing the Endmin’s catchphrase: “‘Originium will carve a path for us.’ Ah… I-I was just practicing…”

Her profile even includes her observation notes on the clan’s fighters. Nonno Rozzan moves so quietly she has never managed to hide from him, and in training she has “never actually seen him pull the trigger.” Her brother Catello’s drills are “annoyingly simple… Skipping this!” Sorella Arclight meditates, which Rossi finds impossible. And the Endmin turns rocks into weapons: “No point trying to learn it…”

In a Fight, a Different Person

A blood splash behind a photo of Rossi drawing her dagger, "a different person"

The same HR file ends with a warning: “if you were to face her in combat, you shall witness an entirely different side of Rossi: razor-sharp and utterly ruthless.”

Her third profile file shows it. It is her first time handling the clan’s “business.” A week earlier, a bandit leader called Erik, “the Cannon of the Wildlands,” intercepted a convoy bound for the Luppino family and kept a large share of the goods. With Catello away, Rossi volunteered.

Erik laughs at her: “The Pack sent a tiny pup to talk? Did old Rozzan and his crew kick the bucket or something?” She is bored. She smells the gunpowder, finds the explosives, counts two swordsmen, two axemen and casters outside the tent, and plays with a fork. Erik decides a captured wolf would be worth more than a dead one and raises his cannon.

The fork flies at his face. She vanishes from her seat. “Behave and be still.” Her dagger is at the back of his neck, and the casters at the door have already gone quiet: her clan was waiting outside.

Then Erik makes his mistake. Furious, he tells her he gave the goods to the Bonekrushers: “Try and take them back if you have the guts for it!”

“What did you say?” A killing intent he had never felt before comes off the girl. The file does not show what happens next. It cuts to the aftermath:

“Looking at the wrecked tent, Rossi couldn’t help but sigh. ‘Business is such a hassle.’”

The trial with five bandits

Her coming-of-age trial was harder than most. The Pack normally assigns young wolves a solo hunt or a business deal, but Rossina had done both “at an even younger age,” so the elders left her in a deserted village with five desperate bandits, each waiting to stab the others in the back, plus frequent beast attacks. They drove off “without a second thought.”

Two weeks later they came back to a fenced village. Rossina and the five bandits were taking shifts on watch, hunting and fetching water as a working team. Asked how, she said she just “made them understand the only way to survive.” The interview transcript adds that Catello took the same trial, spent a few days killing every nearby beast, left food behind and slipped away until it was over.

The Ambush: What Happened to Her Family

A deep-blue memory scene: "Over ten years ago, the ambush," red-eyed wolf shapes around a swaddled baby

Her brother’s HR text gives the date and the cause. The Pack values order and keeps a peaceful attitude toward the Civilization Band, which “only fueled the long-standing feud between them and their rivals, the Bonekrushers.” Over ten years ago, the Bonekrushers struck with a vicious ambush, shattering the Pack when they were at their weakest, just after the death of their Alpharion, the clan’s leader. “Wulfgard and his younger sister survived the attack, but they refused to speak of what truly happened.”

Rossi does not speak of it either, almost. “About my childhood… The Pack was always caught in conflicts with the Bonekrushers. It was my brother who took me around seeking medical help, and the clan members also… Oh! Ah … I shouldn’t be talking about this in front of you! Forget it, Endmin.”

When the subject is the Bonekrushers themselves, she does not hold back: “I won’t let a single one of those Bonekrusher brutes get away! This is a blood feud between the Pack and the Bonekrushers. Too many wolves, too many family members, died at their hands just to save me. This is the Pack’s vengeance, and mine too. We’re the clan that holds grudges longest in this world, and one day, we will settle this score!”

The Old Wolf Who Carried Her Out

A blue wolf drawn in outline, wounded by red slashes, guarding a swaddled baby above a row of paw prints

Her fourth profile file is the heart of her story. It opens at a funeral. The man in the coffin is “the last of the Elder Wolves who survived the incident.” During the ambush, “though the Bonekrusher’s haze ravaged his organs and their blades pierced his limbs, the Elder Wolf held on tightly to the swaddled young pup … until he passed her into the arms of another boy.”

The file never names that boy. Given that Wulfgard survived with her and carried her to doctors afterward, it is most likely her brother, but that is our reading, not the text.

The old wolf “spent the rest of his days in pain.” And Rossi, “ever since she was old enough to understand, she had visited the wounded Old Wolf every single week so he could see that she was growing up strong and well. To her, he was the last living thread connecting her to those lost souls.”

The Funeral She Tried to Skip

A red hooded shape slumped beside a training dummy in the rain: "I didn't deserve it."

When he dies, Rossi does not come to the funeral. Rozzan knows where to look: “Whenever she was upset, she’d lose herself in the training grounds and stay there until late into the night.” He finds her driving her sword into a dummy until she collapses.

“He’s gone.” “I know… I know…” She pulls her hood over her eyes. “But … it was because of me… He did it all for…”

Rozzan does not argue. He slings her over his shoulder and carries her to the courtyard while she thrashes, scratches and bites his arm. His expression never flickers. When her strength gives out, she says the thing she has been carrying: “I didn’t become the wolf the Pack could rely on… I never learned to stand on my own. I couldn’t lead anyone. I haven’t done a single thing right… I didn’t deserve their sacrifice…”

A dark figure carrying a small red-hooded shape toward a coffin of flowers, under the line "Saving you was the greatest thing he ever did."

At the empty courtyard, Rozzan sets her down beside the coffin and tells her what the old wolf said after every one of her visits. He was getting old and kept retelling the same stories, and the details changed every time. “Only one thing he ever said never changed… Every single time, he’d say that saving you was the greatest thing he ever did.”

Rossi takes off the pale pendant the elder gave her and places it among the flowers. The coffin is sealed.

The coffin, closed, with a single falling tear and the line "The young wolf never cried again."

“The young wolf never cried again.”

Her Brother, Wulfgard

Rossi and her brother are close and constantly out of step. In story dialogue she blames her troubles on “my unreliable brother who neglects family duties,” and someone tells Wulfgard she has been “whining again, saying she thinks you’ll pull the same stunt this year: ‘the gift arrives, but the brother doesn’t.’” On the ship she complains that he is as elusive as ever, and that if she cannot find him, “Nonno Rozzan’s gonna be furious.”

Wulfgard, for his part, does not want the top job. In one of his lines to the Endmin he says that “becoming the Pack Alpharion has never been my goal. Rossi might be a better fit for that role.” Another line in the game text, written in the first person by someone who watched her grow up, reads like his too: “She is no longer the helpless babe wrapped in blood-soaked blankets. No. She is the Wulfperl of Famiglia Luppino. I am just the fangs of the Pack, but Rossi will always be its heart and soul.” The game table does not tag the speaker, so treat the attribution as ours.

In one story quest, she meets the Endmin at the mining camp, explains that Wulfgard has disappeared, and hands over “a tracker she made herself” to help find him. When they do, he has uncovered traitors inside the Pack.

The Kingdom of Brickyland

The gentlest Rossi story is a quest about a missing sample. Answering the same call from Fiona, she and the Endmin trace it to a group of children dressed up as knights, who took it from a Landbreaker camp and handed it to the boy they call their “King.” To get it back, they play along: they fetch the King two “treasures” from the domains of the “Duchess of Windbell” and the “Duke of Clockwork.”

When Bonekrushers gather at the children’s “Palace,” apparently searching for something, the two of them rescue the King, who first mistakes Rossi for the legendary “Red Monster.” He refuses to walk through a dark mine trail, so Rossi tells him an old story of the Pack, with the lesson that his fear might come from his own imagination. It works. The children knight them both as friends.

Then, sample recovered, Rossi wants to stay a while longer. The quest text says the Endmin guesses she wants to keep playing with the children, “though she strongly denies it,” and promises to keep her secret.

What She Wants

Her employment contract, an in-game item, carries one line: “If you disrespect the most treasured gem of the Pack, you disrespect everyone in the Pack.” With the search-and-rescue crew she “quickly impressed the crew with her skills” and is “now in charge of the riskier SAR operations,” and another crew thanks her for taking out Aggeloi that “would have destroyed our machines.”

And when she talks about the wilderness, the grudge drops away. “Sometimes I saw kids my age doing terrible things just to get by… I think everyone should be able to live by their own choices. Endmin, can Endfield change all this, so those kids can pursue their dreams like I do?”

So Why Is Rossi’s Cloak Bloodstained?

Rossi's hood portrait ringed by blue wolf spirits: "It feels like they never really left."

Because the family who died for her are still on it. The Bonekrushers killed the family members who shielded her before she was old enough to remember them, and an old wolf who was cut and poisoned carried her out, then spent the rest of his life watching her grow. She thinks she did not deserve any of it, and she wears the red cloak anyway, so that every time she touches it, it feels like they never left.

The Pack’s other operators have their own stories: see Wulfgard’s Contingency Contract builds for her brother in combat, the Estella lore post for another life shaped by a Landbreaker camp, and the Endfield lore hub for every operator backstory.
