Typhoeus headlines the Winter Hunt banner, live since September 2, 2026, and the how-to-build question is now settled with real numbers. Our Typhoeus build guide covers her Nature Burst loop, the Deep Rampart set and the measured weapon gap, and our pairing guide ranks four tested teams. This post answers the other question: whether she earns 60,000 Oroberyl out of your account. That is harder than usual this month, because Yvonne’s rerun opens on September 24 while Winter Hunt is still running, and the two banners do not share a counter. You are not deciding on one operator. You are budgeting a month.

Update (September 2, 2026): Typhoeus is live and this verdict has been rewritten against launch testing. The weapon section now carries measured damage percentages, the case for and against her is built on tested team DPS rather than skill text, and there is a new reason to pull: her Battle Skill strips the shield stacks on the new Snowy Forest enemies without a finisher.
TL;DR - Key Points
- The floor is 120 pulls, or 60,000 Oroberyl. The 80-attempt hard pity gives you a 6-star, but only a 50 percent chance it is Typhoeus. Budget against 120, not 80.
- The 120 guarantee dies on September 30. Hard pity carries to the next Chartered banner. The featured guarantee does not, so partial progress evaporates when Winter Hunt closes.
- Yvonne’s rerun overlaps the final six days. Resplendent Spectrum opens September 24 on a separate RE-Factor counter. Pulls spent there do nothing for Typhoeus, and the reverse is also true.
- Her numbers are measured now. About 73 percent of her damage is Nature Bursts, her best team bursts the Effigy boss in about 30 seconds and its highest-DPS variant posts about 71K single-target team DPS, and her damage is steady rather than bursty.
- Her best arguments are utility. Hovering evades ground attacks outright, and her Battle Skill strips the shield stacks on the new 1.5 enemies. Nobody else does either.
- She needs Arcane for her ceiling. Every top team runs Arcane. Without her, teams drop from about 71K to about 47K.
- The weapon gap is real. Signature 100 percent, Suffering’s End 76, Oblivion 68, Detonation Unit 63. The pass weapon is a genuine substitute.
- The off-rate pool is strong. Liino and Arcane are both recent limited operators, and Arcane is the exact operator her team wants.
The Decision Is Not Typhoeus, It Is September
Most banner decisions are a single question with a single answer. This one is not, and the reason is the calendar.
Winter Hunt runs September 2 to September 30. Yvonne’s Resplendent Spectrum rerun, the first RE-Factor Headhunting banner, opens September 24. For six days both are live. They use different systems, they track different counters, and they draw from the same Oroberyl balance you have been saving since 1.4.
That produces a genuinely awkward shape. If you start Typhoeus and stall at 70 attempts, you cannot roll that progress into Yvonne, and you cannot bank it for October either, because the featured guarantee is banner-bound. You would be holding a partial commitment to a banner that is about to delete it.
So the honest framing for this post is not “is she good.” She is good, and now we can say how good. The framing is: is she worth committing a full 120-pull block to, in a month where a second banner wants the same money. Everything below is written against that question.
What 120 Pulls Actually Costs You
At 500 Oroberyl per attempt, the arithmetic is unforgiving and worth seeing laid out before you open the banner screen.
| Milestone | Attempts | Oroberyl | What it actually buys |
|---|---|---|---|
| Soft pity begins | 65 | 32,500 | Rates start climbing. Nothing is guaranteed yet |
| Hard pity | 80 | 40,000 | A 6-star, with a 50 percent chance it is Typhoeus |
| Featured guarantee | 120 | 60,000 | Typhoeus, regardless of how the 50/50 landed |
| Typhoeus and Yvonne | 240 | 120,000 | A full floor on both September banners |
| Signature weapon | 80 more | 15,840 tickets | Umbra of Frigid Eventide, guaranteed |
Two things worth flagging. First, the 10 bonus Urgent Recruitment attempts you receive at the 30-attempt milestone do not count toward the guarantee according to our recorded banner rules, so they are free pulls rather than a discount. Second, Version 1.5 hands out 1,000 Oroberyl in launch mail, which is two attempts. Patch income will not rescue a budget that starts short. If you want to model your own position rather than trust a round number, run it through our pity calculator before you commit anything.
The practical rule: if you cannot see 60,000 in your balance, or a clear path to it before September 30, the correct move is to not start.
Reason 1: Hovering Is a Defensive Mechanic, and Those Age Better
The strongest structural argument for Typhoeus has nothing to do with her damage.
Her Battle Skill, Piercing Arrows of the Woods, lifts her into a Hovering state where she fires her aerial attacks. While she is up there, ground attacks do not reach her. Her Combo Skill fires from the air and resets her attack count, and her Ultimate re-enters the state without spending SP while handing back two Hunting Arrows. The kit is built to keep her airborne for as much of a fight as the loop allows, and the loop is short.
That is a category of tool the roster does not otherwise have. Every other answer to melee pressure in Endfield is a shield, a heal, a dodge window or a positioning trick that you have to execute. Hovering is a state where the attack simply misses.
Damage ceilings get overtaken. A new limited carry ships every patch and the old one slides down a tier list. Mechanics that remove a whole category of incoming damage tend not to slide, because nothing later invalidates them. If you have lost runs to being swarmed at close range, that is the part of her kit worth paying for, and it is the part that does not depend on any multiplier being good.
Reason 2: She Pays Off the Nature Applicators You Already Built
Typhoeus does not ask you to build a new support around her. She asks you to already own one, and the list is specific.
Her loop runs on Signs. Every Nature Burst anyone on the team triggers gives her one, and every Nature Infliction stack her aerial attacks consume gives her another plus Ultimate energy. Her own Hunting Arrows guarantee 5 Signs per volley, so the team only has to supply the last 3 as stacks. At eight Signs her Combo Skill, Rampant Thorns, reloads her arrows and drops a zone that slows enemies and raises the Nature Burst damage they take by 10 percent.
The operators who supply those stacks for free are Arcane (Combo and Ultimate), Gilberta (Ultimate), Fluorite (Combo and Ultimate) and Antal (Combo, after his 100 SP Battle Skill). Ardelia also applies Nature Infliction, but through her 100 SP Battle Skill, so tested teams use her as a debuffer next to Liino rather than as the stack source. If any of the first four is built on your account, you are not pulling an operator who needs a project.
This is the reason that scales with what you own. An Arcane account gets the 71K team on day one. A Fluorite and Antal account gets a functional 47K to 56K version and a clear upgrade path.
Reason 3: Your Free Partner Arrives September 24
The usual counterargument to a resource-dependent carry is that the enabler costs another banner. Here it does not, twice over.
Antal and Fluorite are free today and both apply the stacks she needs. Purrchena, the 5-star Physical Defender from the Purry Big Feline! RAWR! event, is free, and her Battle Skill gets a no-cost recast that applies Nature Infliction. Our Purrchena build guide covers her own kit, but the relevant fact here is the date: she arrives September 24, three weeks after Winter Hunt opens. She was not part of the launch testing, so treat her as a promising fifth source rather than a proven one.
So the “she needs a Nature partner” objection has a free answer now and a second free answer in three weeks. It is not a reason to pull on its own. It is a reason the biggest objection to pulling her is smaller than it looks.
Reason 4: Limited Means Limited, and the Off-Rate Pool Is Good
Typhoeus is a limited operator on a Chartered Headhunting banner. There is no announced rerun schedule, and Endfield’s reruns have been slow enough that skipping is a real commitment rather than a delay.
The consolation structure is unusually generous this time. Every 6-star that is not the featured unit rolls from the off-rate pool, and this banner’s off-rates are Liino and Arcane, both recent limited operators, sitting alongside the standard pool of Ember, Lifeng, Ardelia, Last Rite and Pogranichnik.
| Operator | Role | Why the off-rate matters |
|---|---|---|
| Typhoeus (featured) | Nature Striker | The unit you are pulling for. Guaranteed at attempt 120 |
| Liino | Electric Support | Fourth seat of the second-best tested team, beside Arcane and Ardelia |
| Arcane | Nature Caster | The core of every top Typhoeus team. A losing 50/50 that hands you her best teammate |
| Standard pool | Various | Ember, Lifeng, Ardelia, Last Rite, Pogranichnik |
Arcane is the interesting one. Losing your 50/50 to her is the rare case where the consolation prize is the single operator that most improves the unit you were trying to pull. That is not enough to justify the banner by itself, but it does lower the cost of bad variance more than most banners do.
Reason 5: Her Battle Skill Strips the New Shield Stacks
This one did not exist in the pre-release version of this post, because nobody had fought the new enemies yet.
Version 1.5’s Snowy Forest introduced witchcraft creations, the Woodcraft Slug and Woodcraft Wanderer of the patch notes, that carry shield stacks: a lock icon over a segmented bar above each enemy. While the stacks are up the target is protected, and the standard way to clear them is to land a finisher, which means committing an operator to a full combo string on an enemy that is trying to interrupt you.

The segmented bars beside the lock icons are shield stacks. Typhoeus’s aerial attacks strip them without a finisher.
Typhoeus’s Battle Skill strips the stacks as part of her normal aerial loop. No finisher, no dedicated operator, no change to her rotation. In the content this version is built around, that is a second piece of utility nobody else offers, and it is the kind that stays relevant for as long as the enemy type keeps appearing. Our Snowy Forest and Gloomwald’s Rage prep guide covers the zone.
The Weapon Gap Is Measured Now
Deep Cold Arsenal Issue runs alongside Winter Hunt with Umbra of Frigid Eventide, her signature Arts Unit, on rate-up. The weapon banner guarantees the featured weapon at 80 attempts, with soft pity at 40 and a 25 percent featured split on any 6-star before that.
The pre-release version of this section called the weapon the least certain call on the banner. That is no longer true. Her launch panel confirms Agility main, Will sub, the signature is the only Agility Arts Unit in the game, and single-target testing puts the gap in numbers. With the signature at 100 percent of her personal damage at P0, Suffering’s End from the Protocol Pass lands at 76 percent, Oblivion at 68, and Detonation Unit at 63. At P5 the signature climbs to 125 against 83 for the pass weapon.
Two conclusions. The signature gap is bigger than a normal signature’s, because nothing else matches her main stat. And the Protocol Pass weapon is a real substitute, because it carries the generic damage bonus her gear does not supply. Detonation Unit, which looked like the obvious stand-in on the strength of its shared Detonate skill, is the weakest of the four.
My read: if you are pulling her at all and money is tight, take the character, run Suffering’s End, and revisit the weapon banner if your Oroberyl survives September. If you own Arcane and are already running the top team, the signature is a measured 24-point upgrade and it is the better second spend.
Winter Hunt vs Resplendent Spectrum: How the Counters Interact
This is the part most people will get wrong, so it is worth being explicit. Winter Hunt is Chartered Headhunting. Resplendent Spectrum is RE-Factor Headhunting. They are separate systems with separate counters.
| Winter Hunt (Chartered) | Resplendent Spectrum (RE-Factor) | |
|---|---|---|
| Live | September 2 to September 30 | September 24 onward |
| Featured | Typhoeus | Yvonne (rerun) |
| 5-star floor | Within 10 attempts | Within 10 attempts |
| 6-star hard pity | 80 attempts | 80 attempts |
| Featured guarantee | 120 attempts | 120 attempts |
| Does hard pity carry? | Yes, to the next Chartered banner | Yes, across RE-Factor banners |
| Does the featured guarantee carry? | No. It resets when the banner closes | Unconfirmed. See below |
Three consequences follow from that table.
Attempts never transfer between the two. Seventy pulls into Winter Hunt does not put you seventy pulls into Yvonne. If you split a 120-pull budget across both, the likely outcome is neither guarantee and two dead counters.
Winter Hunt has the earlier deadline. It closes September 30 and takes your featured progress with it. Resplendent Spectrum keeps running past that date. If you genuinely want both and cannot afford both floors, the banner with the expiry is the one to resolve first.
One RE-Factor rule is still unconfirmed. Reporting suggests the 120-attempt featured guarantee may trigger only once across all banners sharing the Resplendent Spectrum name, which would make carryover a single allowance rather than a renewing one. Official rules have not been published. Our RE-Factor Headhunting breakdown tracks that question, and we are not hardening it until Gryphline documents it.
The Honest Case Against Pulling
A fan resource that only lists reasons to spend is not being straight with you. Here are the genuine reasons to hold, rewritten now that there are numbers.
Her ceiling is Arcane’s ceiling. Every top tested team runs Arcane. The best team without her, Gilberta, Fluorite and Perlica, sits near 47K single-target team DPS against 71K with her. If you do not own Arcane and do not intend to chase her, you are buying about two thirds of the operator.
She is steady, not spiky. About 73 percent of her damage is Nature Bursts on a static multiplier, delivered through a short repeating loop. That is excellent for Contingency Contract, where you rarely get to burst inside a stagger window, and less exciting in content built around one big stagger nuke. If you enjoy the nuke pattern, she will feel flat.
The figures ignore stagger. The community calculations deliberately leave stagger multipliers out. In content that rewards stagger bursts, high-stagger partners like Gilberta gain more than the tables show, and Typhoeus’s own contribution moves less.
Opportunity cost is sharper than usual. Sixty thousand Oroberyl here is sixty thousand you do not have on September 24, and Yvonne is a known quantity with a settled community verdict. Typhoeus is measured now too, so this is no longer a bet on an unknown, but it is still two banners drawing on one balance.
Should You Pull? By Player Type
The verdict changes more by account than it does by tier list.
| Player Type | Verdict | Reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| Arcane owner | Pull | You already own the core of her best team. This is the best-case account for her |
| Gilberta or Fluorite, no Arcane | Pull if you will chase Arcane | The 47K team works, and every upgrade path runs through Arcane, who is on this banner’s off-rate |
| Losing runs to melee swarms or shielded enemies | Pull | Hover evasion and shield-stack stripping are worth the pull on their own, independent of her damage |
| F2P, under 60,000 Oroberyl | Skip | Do not start a banner you cannot finish. The featured guarantee dies September 30 |
| F2P, exactly one banner affordable | Lean Yvonne unless you own Arcane | Yvonne is a settled, self-contained carry. Typhoeus is measured now, but her top number depends on a second limited operator |
| Monthly pass, disciplined saver | Pull, run Suffering’s End | The Protocol Pass weapon is a real 76 percent substitute. Take the 120 floor on the character and revisit the weapon later |
| Mid-spender wanting both | Resolve Winter Hunt first | It has the deadline. Resplendent Spectrum is still live after September 30 |
| Whale / collector | Pull both plus the signature | P1 is the ATK step, P4 lets her drop Ultimate Gain gear, P5 adds an arrow. The signature is a 24-point gap |
| No Nature operators, no plan | Pull only with Antal and Fluorite built | They are free and they run the same rotation shape. Purrchena adds another free source on September 24 |
| Deep, balanced roster | Optional | She is a novel tool rather than a gap-filler if you already field a carry per element |
Common Mistakes When Deciding
- Starting without the floor. The 120 guarantee is banner-bound and Winter Hunt closes September 30. Forty pulls of partial progress is not a down payment on anything.
- Splitting the budget across both September banners. Separate counters means a split budget buys two half-finished pity bars. Pick one and commit.
- Treating the 80-pull pity as the target. Eighty guarantees a 6-star, not Typhoeus. Half the accounts that stop there will be looking at Liino or Arcane instead.
- Counting the bonus Urgent Recruitment attempts toward 120. Our banner data records them as not counting. Plan without them and treat them as a bonus.
- Buying Detonation Unit as a stand-in for the signature. It is the weakest of her four tested weapons. Suffering’s End from the pass is the real substitute.
- Counting on Ardelia as her stack source. Her Nature Infliction costs 100 SP. She is a fine debuffer next to Typhoeus, but Arcane, Gilberta, Fluorite or Antal have to supply the free stacks.
- Assuming the free Farsight-style handout covers her. Version 1.5’s launch mail is 1,000 Oroberyl, T-Creds and materials. The pass weapon is the free option, and it requires the Protocol Pass.
What Would Change This Verdict
- Official RE-Factor rules. If the featured guarantee genuinely triggers only once per banner name, the calculus for running both September banners changes for veterans.
- Whether Trial of the Bow offers a trial unit. The September 9 event is built around her kit. If it lets non-owners play her, trying before buying costs nothing.
- Purrchena’s measured performance. If her free recast keeps pace with Fluorite in a Typhoeus rotation, the no-Arcane teams get a better free floor.
- Stagger-inclusive calculations. The current figures leave stagger out. Numbers that include it could reorder the partner list without changing the verdict on her.
Final Verdict
Typhoeus is the easiest limited operator to want that Endfield has shipped in a while, and after a week of testing she is also easy to price. She is a Nature Burst engine with a three-step loop, her best team bursts the Effigy boss in about 30 seconds, she strips the new shield stacks without a finisher, and she hovers where melee enemies cannot answer. That is a genuinely new shape for this roster, and it is measured now rather than promised.
If you own Arcane, pull her. The two of them are the top of the current chart, Suffering’s End covers her weapon slot until you decide on the signature, and the off-rate pool means bad variance still hands you something recent. Commit the full 120 before you start, and do it early enough that September 30 is not a problem.
If you can only afford one banner this month and do not own Arcane, I would still lean Yvonne. Not because Typhoeus is worse, but because Yvonne’s value is self-contained and Typhoeus’s top number depends on a second limited operator you would also have to pull.
And if you are short of 60,000 Oroberyl, the answer is easy. Do not open the banner. A partial pity bar on a Chartered banner is worth nothing on October 1, and the discipline to skip a patch is what pays for the one you actually want.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should you pull Typhoeus in Arknights: Endfield? Pull her if you own Arcane, because every top Typhoeus team runs Arcane and the pair posts the best single-target numbers in launch testing. Pull her if melee-dense content or the new shielded Snowy Forest enemies keep ending your runs, since her hover evades ground attacks and her Battle Skill strips shield stacks without a finisher. If you own no Nature Infliction applicator, Antal and Fluorite are free ways to run her, but the team lands near 47K instead of 71K.
Is Typhoeus good now that she is out? Yes, with a specific shape. About 73 percent of her damage is Nature Bursts on a static multiplier, so she deals steady damage through a short loop rather than one big nuke, and she scales up in multi-target fights. Her fastest tested team, with Arcane, Xaihi and Gilberta, bursts the Effigy boss in about 30 seconds, and the Perlica version of it reaches about 71K single-target team DPS with all signature weapons.
How many pulls do you need to guarantee Typhoeus? 120 attempts, which is 60,000 Oroberyl at 500 per pull. The first 6-star is guaranteed at 80 attempts but only has a 50 percent chance of being Typhoeus, so 120 is the number to budget against rather than 80.
Does Winter Hunt pity carry over to the next banner? Partly. The 80-attempt hard pity counter carries forward to the next Chartered Headhunting banner. The 120-attempt featured guarantee does not, and it resets when Winter Hunt closes on September 30, 2026. Any progress toward that guarantee is gone at that point.
Can I pull for Typhoeus and Yvonne in the same month? Only with about 120,000 Oroberyl. Winter Hunt runs September 2 to September 30 and Yvonne’s Resplendent Spectrum rerun opens September 24, so they overlap for the last six days. They are different banner systems with separate counters, so attempts on one never advance the other.
Is Umbra of Frigid Eventide worth pulling for? The gap is measured now. With the signature at 100 percent of her personal damage, the Protocol Pass weapon Suffering’s End lands at 76 percent, Oblivion at 68 and Detonation Unit at 63. That is a larger signature gap than usual because she is the only Agility-scaling Arts Unit user and nothing else matches her main stat, but the pass weapon is a real substitute while you decide.
Which Typhoeus potentials matter? P1 is a substantial ATK buff worth about 13 percent personal damage on its own. P4 lowers her Ultimate cost so she can drop Ultimate Gain gear for damage pieces, taking her to about 34 percent over P0. P5 adds an extra Hunting Arrow from her Ultimate for a total of about 46 percent. P3’s combo cooldown reduction barely affects rotations.
What happens if I do not reach 120 pulls before September 30? You keep whatever 6-stars you pulled and you keep your progress toward the 80-attempt hard pity, which moves to the next Chartered banner. You lose your progress toward the featured guarantee. This is why partial commitment is the worst way to approach a limited banner.
Who are the off-rate 6-stars on the Winter Hunt banner? Liino and Arcane, both recent limited operators, alongside the standard pool of Ember, Lifeng, Ardelia, Last Rite and Pogranichnik. Arcane is the one that matters here, because she is the core of every top Typhoeus team, and Liino sits in the second-best one.
Does Typhoeus counter the shielded enemies in Version 1.5? Yes. The new Snowy Forest witchcraft creations carry shield stacks, shown as a lock icon over a segmented bar above the enemy, and other operators need a finisher to clear them. Typhoeus’s Battle Skill strips the stacks as part of her normal aerial loop.
Is Typhoeus worth pulling if I have no Nature operators? She works, at a lower ceiling. Antal and Fluorite are free Nature Infliction sources, and the free-support team runs the same rotation shape as the top one. Expect numbers in the 47K to 56K range rather than 71K until you add Arcane. Purrchena arrives free on September 24 and applies Nature Infliction too, though she is untested in Typhoeus teams.
What is the strongest reason not to pull Typhoeus? Her ceiling depends on Arcane. Teams without her fall from about 71K to about 47K single-target team DPS, so if you do not own Arcane and will not chase her, you are pulling a limited carry for two thirds of her value. Her damage is also steady rather than bursty, which some content and some players value less than a nuke.
Endfield Hub is a fan-made resource for Arknights: Endfield and is not affiliated with Hypergryph or Yostar. Damage figures come from community single-target calculations with all signature weapons that ignore stagger multipliers.
